When we bought our house we got carpet on the second floor because it was cheap. We planned to replace it with hardwood eventually because it is healthier and easier to keep clean. We just found out that my son has environmental allergies and we are not ready to install a new hardwood floor. So I am ripping up the carpet in his room and I am going to paint the floor. You gave me a great idea that I can do quickly and without much investment. There is plywood under the carpet so I don't feel bad about painting it and I am not ruining the resale value of the house. One day when we can afford new hardwood floors we will do that but in the interim I won't have to worry about what is on the carpet and my son will appreciate it if he can breathe in his room.
