(I just noticed that there is an actual "reply" button. Should've used that.)

I definitely had reply-er's remorse for responding defensively, but the negativity in your comment stung a bit and I reacted impulsively.

It's true that my apartment doesn't look like a page out of an Ikea or West Elm catalog, and I realize that I have a lot of stuff, but these are all very personal items that I love dearly. (I wish you could actually step inside this place - it feels much less cluttered than the photos must let on, I assure you.)

This is my first home alone since the end of a very long relationship, and I've poured my heart and soul into making it my own. As my friend Lydie (who was very cavalier in coming to my defense) said, if there had to be a theme to this place it would be "me" - a true reflection of my personality and interests - something that I couldn't expect any stranger looking at five photographs to understand. But I decorated this home so that I could love being here. And I do.

Thank you for taking time to apologize. That means more than any "I LOVE IT" comment I could have received.

Not sure about the comment deletion, but I am certain about one thing: I live in this home and every junky cluttered messy inch of it is filled with my heart and hard work.

joyia - yes! I knew I needed a pedestal stand when I was making the table, because i'd want to push it as far under the church pew as possible. I found this christmas tree base on craigslist for free! That totally inspired the use of a log as the pedestal, which my old neighbor (a timber worker) helped me pick out. The top of the table is an old recycled stair tread that i stripped and stained to match the pew. I'm glad you like it!

B from Stockholm - the tricycle is a memento. it actually has tons of significance for me so I don't feel that it takes up any space at all. Also, it's not in a traffic area, so not a big deal. As for the art - to each his own, I guess. :-)

Thanks everyone! I absolutely love my little apartment and I'm glad you're enjoying it, too...

LBoyes - the rug is, believe it or not, an indoor/outdoor rug from Home Depot! I love it because I can take it to the car wash and spray it down when it needs cleaning! It's surprisingly soft underfoot.

Thank you so much everyone! I knew I could count on AT... That reproduction from the Modern Source site is nice and affordable... It's too bad that the super-cheap Andalusia bench on overstock.com (http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Andalucia-Leather-Walnut-Wood-50-Bench/3955174/product.html) is so much smaller...

Thanks! It's hooked wool and my husband Charlie bought this pillow for me at a little boutique here in Seattle (he knows me well!). Did a quick search for it online and found that you can get it and many others from this collection at caronsbeachhouse.com - just search for hooked pillows and a bunch will come up!

Thanks everyone! So many replies:

ARTNERD: Yes - we're in Ballard!

HIGHLANDER403: The corner grid is an installation by one of the owners who's an artist. He built this to surround the big ol' ugly heater...

GROWGIRL: Entry is in the kitchen, which you can see in the final photo. You have to go up a VERY steep and narrow staircase to get in! The rectangular spaces are closets.

KENDALL GREEN CA: It's a church! We expect sad lurking spirits to visit us while we sleep! :-)

DANIELCLT: Shelving unit is a vintage find - an old magazine sorter from somewhere... Wish I knew more about it!

LOLLYPUP: The living room rug is an OUTDOOR rug from Home Depot! It's actually really soft, made of recycled materials, and we can actually take a water hose to the thing! hahaha!

and to others who asked:

Blue chair is from (of all places) Fred Meyer, the grocery store!

I would have loved to show the meditation space, tricycles, and trapeze, too! But they only allow five photos! Maybe we'll get a house tour one day! hehehe...
