Can any comment on the negative review for the Parsons' File Cabinet within the link? The customer says it is equivalent to building your own file cabinet from scratch with a lot of dowels and screws that need to be glued.

I have an open concept floor plan as well. I am planning on pairing Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter HC-172 with Benjamin Moore's Woodlawn Blue HC-147.

I decided I would only paint the kitchen walls that are visible while standing within the kitchen. This way the colors liven the space with it's own identity, although it avoids odd transitions into other parts of the open floor plan.

With your kitchen, I would only paint the walls to the right of the door alcove. That would be the wall the cabinets are touching on the right side of the picture.

This reminds me of a How to Draw set of instructions which shows step one with a circle, step two with a square, step three with a triangle, and step four with the Mona Lisa.

I recognize this particular shot was used for inspiration: http://www.casahaus.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/brume-cocina.jpg

The privacy window with the graphic contact paper works within the inspiration. The inspiration is monochromatic with pops of accents from the flowers and soap. This helps keep the scene calm rather than noisy. The other design element which works within the inspiration is the windows are one main unit without the privacy at the top of the window.

I think most people prefer the generic, because it's easier on the eyes and featured more character with the molding of the shutters.

My personal favorite is a LaCie CooKey, which looks just like a key and fits with the rest of my keys on my keychain. It goes wherever I go, unless I lost my keys…

I had one of Philips' Wake-up Lights, although I ended up replacing it with an iPhone dock alarm and a bedside light which was setup with a timer. I found the Philips' Wake-up Lights did not have the audio-quality that I sought, although I wanted a light to help wake me up the mornings. This alternative ended up being less expensive and you could customize the look and feel with any alarm and light you choose.

Granted my light doesn't turn on gradually, however I am a heavy sleeper so the Philip's Wake-up Light never actually woke me up. I do like my alarm to gradually get louder, so I have this being done through my iPhone alarm clock.
