I think the author and the commenters abhor the look of these high-rises not because they are too high or too packed together, but because their fragile egos and their sense of "I am a special snowflake" are summarily shattered by the prospect of living shoulder-to-shoulder in identical compartments with this many other people. From the exterior, the apartments have no character; this, coupled with the mere fact of their number, startles individuals in a society that tells them they are each unique and special in their own way: perfect, inviolable, invaluable snowflakes. Which is a lie. These buildings look beautiful to me, and reduce the footprint of humankind on the earth by stacking people up rather than spreading them outwards, as in the ungodly terror of the suburbs.

So many questions. Why are all the frames crooked? Why would you install two light fixtures on the wall in the middle of that gallery mess? Why the horrendous overhead fixture? Why not gussy up the table? And if you're taking a picture to post on a design website, why the hell wouldn't you straighten the chairs at the table? It takes 5 seconds! Oy.

I'm sorry, but that bike hanging there in the first picture looks absurd and hideous.

Oh, this is lovely. It reminds me of the furnishings in my grandmother's house. She always had an eye for great glassware and vases.

You're missing the point here-- this is the XS chair. Art maybe, furniture, no. He's more interested in making a point about our repulsive consumer culture than making furniture. Which is fine. But it's not great design.

This chair reminds me of an installation I saw at the Art Institute of Chicago where the artist had hacked open a stuffed animal and spilled its "guts," which were comprised of other stuffed animals, across the floor. Great art, bad toy.

I think these are fabulous. The teacups in or instead of drawers and the dress form near the bedside table are fantastic.
