I don't think it's a great idea to use for dish washing soap. It can make it very slippery and mighr break on you. I am using recycled liquor bottles for drinking water in the house. I keep one on my night stand with a glass on the side and two at the dinner table and a cold one in the fridge. It looks better than having plastic water bottles around.

I don't care who sees my things. It's MY place. I have S&M gear hanging on my walls and fetish masks on styrofoam heads. I am very open about what i'm into and any guests that come to my place should accept that. I won't censor my taste and my lifestyle.
I have not heard anything negative. I don't have kids in the house so I think it should be fine.

I don't think white is a good look unless it was in a black room perhaps. It looks like it needs to be painted. Perhaps a different color would look better.
I painted a vinatge chair with a black matte and it looks like it's made of charcoal.
