I'm also currently in the packing stage of a move. I'm attempting the purge for one month before packing and then pack a different room for the next 4 weekends. I have a tendency to put things off if they are small enough, but if I need to do a big project I'm more focused and effective.

Vocalize expectations, values, and compromises from the start.

If I'm expected to make dinner, I expect you to clean it up after. But if I don't vocalize that, how will you know? That's when the melt down over simple tasks happens. If I value a clean house, but you value a lazy afternoon-- we need to compromise. A compromise from both for an hour of both cleaning, helps us both have a lazy afternoon.

But sometimes as silly as it sounds you just need to talk it out about who takes the trash out, or otherwise you realize one day it hasn't been taken out in weeks because you're both expecting the other to do it.

I have had a Karlstand loveseat for 2 years. First, I have it in the cheapest basic white fabric-- which for being white and not the most expensive fabric has held up better than my 3x more exprensive couch from a big name furniture company that's only 5 months only and already pilling. Second, I love that that I can take it apart-- we needed to move it down a hallway that was only 24" wide-- so being able to take it apart was fantastic. Third, I find it quite comfortable, but I'm only 5'1. My 5'10 boyfriend isn't as big of a fan (this may be part that it's a loveseat and not a couch). Finally, I should mention that the loveseat did break (base broke from the arm), but beceause Ikea has a 10 year warrenty I simply took pictures of the problem and they gave me an entirely new couch with free delivery and removal of my broken love seat. That's pretty fanastic. I'm slightly wishing I had just bough the chaise and built a larger couch then buying a more expensive and now clearly lower quailty couch from somewhere else.

I have the same color couch. We added deep plums and barn reds as accessory peices and used natural colored window coverings and white walls to keep it from feeling too dark. Plans to add some white billy bookcases in the future :)

In my current apt I have a bar sink. I would gladly give up the counter space to not get a bath any time I try to wash anything larger than a ceral bowl. Moving into a new place next month, what was at the top of the check list? A large sink!
