I rarely comment, but this is amazing! Love the copious amounts of sunlight and natural feel of this bedroom.

Nice place! I wish I had 750 square feet, I share my space with my boyfriend and our cat with just over 360 sq feet. More storage is great until but it also can cause more clutter, the key to our success was learning to live with less stuff and finding hobbies outside of the home. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/113398103916213499070/albums/5811827932692238977/5811827934616134530

First and foremost you need to purge all unnecessary things. I have linked an article I wrote with some tips on creating storage and there are some other articles that help you slim down your belongings.

Living in a small space requires you to be a minimalist. (I have been living in a 360 sq ft studio with my partner and our cat).

Design Help For Downsizing Move? Good Questions

@Rahskolnikov It's behind the door :)

@holly14 The previous owner actually had it set up the way you described. Unfortunately the space where we have the TV is a bit too small for seating. We are reluctant to use it for media storage because the way it is set up now adds a significant amount of sq footage to our living space. We also felt the TV was too close in the previous owner's set up.

When we have friends over (we do entertain from time to time, if you can believe that), the setup provides a big circle of seating (I usually sit or lean on the edge of the bed).

I moved some stuff around based on the comments, now I need to find some good stools. Thanks for the input :) http://www.minimal-ism.com/2012/04/small-cool-2012/

@Jettsam I read about that and apparently the difference in bacteria count was negligible according to a Mythbusters. This is my take on the matter, some people have cited that having an open toilet seat is unclean, and it is unpleasant to see an open toilet. In my opinion the only reason you would want to hide your toilet bowl is if it isn’t clean. Thus if the bowl is open to the world, you are more prone to keep it clean and with the commercial design it takes just a simple wipe down with a disinfectant since there is less surface area. I would rather have invisible mist than someone flush with the toilet seat closed and accidentally leave leftover particles for the next user.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We just moved in to this space in mid-November, so we have been here just under 5 months. I will be taking all these ideas into consideration as we move forward. To be honest, I felt a bit undeserving after seeing the great interiors that other people posted.

But regardless, Miso sends his thanks to those that give us some love!

@NickGood, yes the TV is located in the area designated as a closet in the layout. It sits directly opposite the small couch. We were thinking about stools for that eating area, but we actually use the steamer trunk as a bench. I put felt pads on the bottom so it slides out easily on the wood floor. We keep extra bedding and random stuff in there.

Another request, help with that window by the bed? I don't like the way the blinds look I was thinking about other window treatments that would make that area look better but allow lots of natural light in.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, please keep em coming!

Thanks! I boiled them myself, total cost was under $60 bucks. $35 for the antlers from a random hunter/ebayer in Tennessee, $6 for the hanging brackets and $17 for the chain. Also I am looking for affordable ideas for the entry and a new vanity/lighting for the bathroom?

Any suggestions?
