Marinated artichoke hearts. I can finish off that really small glass bottle before all the groceries get put away!

Great idea. You know it's a winner as we're already seeing the verbification of the word "outbox!" (See looseleaf's post, above.)

Pondering my first item as I type.

Like everyone else who was wondering... WHAT KIND OF PAINT KRYSTLE USED?

I found it, thanks to Google and the Martha Steward website. Basically, the DIY calls for "dishwasher-safe enamel paint," which seems to be sold in many crafts stores (Think: Michaels). So that answers the safety issue, too! I love this one and will definitely do this at some point during the holidays.

Blood orange sorbet or the coconut flavor (I like the Talenti brand) and a plain biscotti (freshly made if you can find!), served in a tall red wine glass -- accompanied by French press coffee.

I too, learned that rule when I took a photo archiving technique class years ago, at The George Eastman House in Rochester NY.

Here's an obscure tip that is actually related to that rule of picture hanging -- whether you're looking at your big screen TV in your living room, or in a movie theater and want to select the best seat in the house... Here's what you do: Eyeball what you think is roughly 2 1/2 times the diagonal of the screen, and then take a seat. (In the theater, pick the middle seat.)

Works every time!

When my daughter was in high school, she and I got into a pretty nasty screaming match. It quickly ratcheted up to an all out door slamming fest -- but ended as soon as she kicked my hollow-core bedroom door.

This happened when she was about 16, and she's 25 now. So yeah, it's been nine years, and I really don't see the gash any more... Except at that moment just before "company" comes over!

Before posting this, I searched this page ("command + "F"), so I think this one is new: I cringe whenever I see an accent prop -- like a robe, a sweater, or even a throw tossed at a perfect 90 degree angle on the bed. Oh, and it's always in the complementary color, too!

Very proud of my I one vintage globe, which was my husband's from grade school, back in the late 1950s.

Used to keep it in my office, because it was a great conversation piece. Colleagues would love to look at the countries -- like French Indochina, and a slew of African countries that have been renamed, many times over.

Grew up in Cincinnati and had friends who lived in seriously big, old houses. Some had dumbwaiters near the kitchen. And others had buzzers in the bedrooms to ring for the servants. (Long gone by the time we were around!) My bedroom, which was on the second floor, had the laundry chute that went down to the basement. It also meant that you never needed a hamper in your bedroom for dirty clothes! Also, the houses built in the 20s and 30s had those telephone nooks built into a wall in the hallway. So cool!

Tried making this spice rack -- followed all the recommended directions... with the neodymium magnets on the back of the 4" metal tins with clear tops, bought online. Glued magnets with the epoxy recommended, but it's now a disaster!

The batteries came off -- and they stay stuck to the metal sheet.

Anyone have any suggestions to remedy?

Years ago, my first job in New York was with an advertising photographer. I was barely making what you'd call a 'living wage.' One day, during what I remember as being the biggest shoot of this photographer's career, a fire broke out many floors below the studio.

As the lights went out and smoke filled the studio, my boss, the photographer, and a real jerk -- yelled for me to grab his large format lenses out of the safe. I yelled right back, telling him, "Screw the lenses! You're insured!" And somehow, I calmly led the clients down nine flights of stairs.

The photo shoot resumed a few days later, and the photographer never said a word to me about the incident. But that's when I learned, that nothing material is ever more important than your life.

Yeah, where was Sarah Richardson? (Oh, right. There was her recent audio interview with AT!) But seriously, I love anything redesigned by Sarah OR Candice.

Who is Your Favorite TV Designer?

What I love about Sarah's projects is that she lets you in on her mistakes -- which always add time to the timeline and end up costing boatloads of money. I mean, how many times did she have to re-install the floors on her island home? Or, the window re-do to make the window line match? But I think her budgets are way beyond most folks. Can you imagine how much it cost to send all those materials up north, and then by boat for the last few miles??? But Tommy is a hoot! He needs his own show. Are you listening, Canadian HGTV?

We haven't named ours, but my sister and her husband jokingly named theirs, "The Bitch." That's because they chose the British lady's voice and she's forever saying "Recalculating!" which gets a bit irksome, especially after they've taken the fourth wrong turn...

... but my prediction: The Cameroon JuJus will become this year's bus roll or "Keep Calm Carry On" poster. They'll soon be everywhere.

Spotted it on "Dear Genevieve" last weekend and now an AT House Tour.
