That might be, outdoor space shouldn't really be included in square footage. I don't suppose you know how big the sleeping loft is? Malissa's Hand-Built Home Small Cool Contest |

If I had to hazzard a guess, I'd say that the bed loft is likely around 30 sq.ft. in which case that might be where the space is being lost from since the floorplan from last year included it. Malissa's Hand-Built Home Small Cool Contest |

In Japan people generally go to a rabu hoteru if they want to have a date over and don't want to be disturbed. The same applies even if live in a house since they don't have quite the sound proofing that western housing has. Could You Live in a 16 Square Foot Apartment? |

Based upon previous years, I don't think the exact methods really matters unless you are right at the edge of eligibility. I've seen people that add up the interior space (e.g. rooms, bathroom, etc.) and I've seen others that just take the exterior dimensions to estimate the size. Small Cool 2013: Here We Go! |

Yes, of course! But then again, I also have a collection of Japanese and Chinese scrolls that get rotated with the seasons. However, in order to properly care for this type of art you also kind of need to do that. Do You Change Art Seasonally? Reader Survey |

I'm inclined to agree with @Trumystique in that the article really isn't up to your old standards and I wonder about the "inside scoop" when I hear a term like "Cantabrigians" get mentioned. I've been around for awhile now and never heard that term. Now if the author had mentioned "The Peoples Republic of Cambridge." things would be different. Someone that was giving an inside scoop would also want to give insight as to why that term is being used in Cambridge as well. Don't get me wrong, I do think hat $1500 is likely way too much for what came in the box but on the same token, if that is the full inventory than that is effectively almost a full wardrobe. All you would need a second pair of shoes, two more shirts, and maybe another sweater or jacket to consider it a full basic wardrobe. Or a complete one you try to ensure that you aren't following the 80/20 principle. :) Can an Online Stylist Improve Your Wardrobe? |

Men's clothing can get to be quite expensive depending upon what it's made out of and who the maker is. Plus, if this truely is a "full wardorbe" replacement I'm assuming that you are going to get a couple pairs of jeans or slacks, undershirts, shirts, sweaters, etc. so I could see going over a $1000 fairly quickly. Take a look at your wardrobe and tally up the total cost of everything if you were to buy it all at once and you might be supprised. Can an Online Stylist Improve Your Wardrobe? |

The different PS2's are likely different SKUs that you would want to have a "complete" collection of that console. Plus, the PS2 had region coding so if you wanted to play, say, a Japanese game, you can't just use the same console that you brought in the United States. @kateandsphoto "The last house I lived in was a rental and didn't have a railing either, and we lived there a year and never had a problem." That actually really surprises me because legally, in the United States at least, you cannot rent a dwelling that does not meet code baring some jurisdictions where electrical might be grandfathered in. Where were you able to find a house that didn't have rails installed? Before & After: Kate & Ellen's Living Room Revamp January Cure Reader Projects |

Serious question, but what is the point in having antique solid wood furniture if you are just going to repaint it? I'm hoping that the Chinese cabinet (the green one in the kitchen) was not actually an antique given that the market for them right now is hot and I've seen a couple instances of furniture that would have sold for some serious money to a collector being destroyed by it being painted. I generally don't have much against painting furniture per se, but it does seem to be growing in popularity lately which has been causing some very attractive pieces of furniture to be destroyed as it tends to be a one way process. @janel - So nobody from AT is actually going to comment on the appropriateness (e.g. lack there of) of some of the comments in the bachellors article? Ladies Living Solo: Inspiration from Our House Tours |

@Maxb - Except most people haven't been around for centuries on this site and that history really isn't though; however, we might be talking about two completely different things right now. Are you trying to justify the comments that some of the others have been making on this article, or are we talking about something different? Bachelor Pads of Apartment Therapy |

@Sophieto - Depending upon the context "bachelor" has historically meant either someone or something of low rank or grade (e.g. Bachelor's degree, knight bachelor, etc.) or it referred to a unmarried man. "Bachelor-girl" or spinster historically refereed to an unmarried woman prior to the start of the use of the word bachelorette. Bachelor Pads of Apartment Therapy |

@Maxb - Sorry, but the whole "Men have been doing it for centuries therefore women get a pass" excuse doesn't work. When such talk is inappropriate, it's inappropriate regardless of the gender of the person who is talking and the gender of the person it's directed at. Acting like an adult does not mean using child like excuses such as "They did it, so why can't I?" this isn't the playground. Bachelor Pads of Apartment Therapy |

@skaterjo - No we don't know the gender of the commenters; however, that disregards the point that the comments are overwhelmingly inappropriate and as others have noted, had the proverbial shoe been on the other foot and the photographs had featured women, anyone making such comments would have been quickly censored by the other commentors on this site. Furthermore, take a step back and think about what you just said - "but they're NOT women, are they" - it could be argued that you are effectively endorsing a double standard by saying that such commentary is acceptable when directed at men; however, is not acceptable when directed at women. Plus, given that this is a forum to discuss design and not the general appearances of either gender, the comments are inappropriate in a contextual and professional matter. @A Life Designed - In all honestly, I suspect it largely comes under the heading of "It depends." Off hand, I suspect that the desire to showoff ones home factors heavily into why people submit their homes for a house tour and I wouldn't be surprised if the motivation for doing so changes as you age.
