AND_SCENE: i completely agree with you about the television watching on a t.v. versus an actual set! so many people i know are smug about having no t.v. but spend hours streaming stuff on their laptops. it's ALL television watching!

otherwise, this post seems silly. why get rid of perfectly good things you have just to replace them with something else?

blech.

270 responses to a post that filches from another previously anemic post. what do not liking capers and/or anchovies have to do with not "being able to abide by" bare light bulbs, or your perception of "inappropriately" hung artwork? good god, did you kick them (your friends) out of your house, or concoct this story for you paycheck? or were you having too much fun over the weekend not doing your job, unintentionally missing your opportunity to post your response stuff that doesn't really matter?

it's just an (another) unoriginal post...riding on the tails of the actually fun, but incredibly offensive to many, "karate-chop post;" about which i refuse to hyperlink (unlike above paid(?) employee and the drove of lemmings whom responded).

seriously, apartment therapy, you have become...lame. i miss your savvy and inspirational ideas about actual small-space living...created by people actually engaged in small space living. you have gone from a useful resource to a commercial sellout. boo.

may you all "curate" yourselves into oblivion!

and...bring on the grammar police! no contact lenses included in this astigmatic (look it up if you need help; mine is pretty severe) production. goodbye and, well, good bye. may your own creativity strike you some day.

- houses full of spindly mid-century furnishings...
- items of clothing, that you clearly never wear, displayed as "art" on hangers, on a wall...
- why does everyone need a home "work space" or home office?
- painted furniture; wood is beautiful. in my opinion, paint is rarely an improvement...
- a pair of $500 shoes casually "tossed" on the floor by the bed...
- to do, to buy, menu lists...
- and…chalkboard paint (especially when combined with the above item).

a bit of vinegar and a bit more baking soda work great on a glass top stove! just scrub everything around a bit with the soft side of a regular kitchen sponge. works better than the store bought stuff.

i live in seattle, near this neighborhood, albeit in a 900 sq. ft. townhouse. it is a beautiful area, even modest and low-key, and i am lucky to be able to walk there, and about, with my dog.

but, i found myself thinking that apartment therapy has drifted quite far from it's original mission as a resource for small-space living. so, AT, i still look but with less and less enthusiasm. when i saw this post, on the heels of the small cool contest, i couldn't help but think that 6 apartments could fit within that square footage.
