I agree with most folks here. A TV in a kitchen, to me anyway, is part of the problem with western society. More, more, more... why? This is ridiculous. Sell it and give the money to a shelter. I'm curious to know why you live in an Airstream? Are you travelling across the country? Is this a nomadic life? I prefer layout 2 - but I'd go for a round table... with so many straight lines, square rooms, square furniture, I'd go bonkers... you need something round so the good Chi can flow. I know that sounds hippy-ish but it's true. I agree with almost every post here - a smaller sofa is needed. Is there room in the apartment anywhere to do this: https://pinterest.com/pin/255579347575197419/ I think the idea of building a little alcove just big enough for a bed - with storage under and closing doors - is the next best thing to having two rooms. Is there a way to build two of these in the living room area and then use the bedroom as the living space? Living rooms are often bigger than bedrooms so it might be worth it. Without a floor plan it is difficult to come up with solutions. Please post a floor plan or at least follow up photos of you what ladies did! Good luck! Whatever you folks do - DO NOT BUY the TEKLAs towels. They have zero absorbancy, are ridiculously difficult to get clean and lose their shape after one wash. Hello fixitchick - I love Hardwood floors in the kitchen... soft on the legs (while standing cooking), easy to clean, doesn't show dirt - drop something and it doesn't break... looks awesome. I say go with Hardwood Maxwell! Timeless and wonderful! Also, it will allow for the whole space to feel more open since there will be no visual break in the view.
