I think people are far too concerned about names and designers. If you simply look for pieces you love, in places you can afford, names become silly. Be happy you have the luxury to buy something... so many people can't. And if you really, really need that million dollar dining table, find a way to get it. Sell other things, scrimp and save. You may find in the end that although you love it, it will be replaced eventually. Everything usually is, unless your goal is to live in 'grandma's house'. I'm quite surprised that this is the 80s. I was in my 20s in the 80s and life was either black and white, pastels or vivid colour. Nothing here speaks of the 80s. This is so cute. I shared a room with my three other sisters for 18 years... we would lay in bed and sing our hearts out night after night - only stopping when mom would yell up the stairs for us to go to sleep. I agree with most folks here. A TV in a kitchen, to me anyway, is part of the problem with western society. More, more, more... why? This is ridiculous. Sell it and give the money to a shelter. I prefer layout 2 - but I'd go for a round table... with so many straight lines, square rooms, square furniture, I'd go bonkers... you need something round so the good Chi can flow. I know that sounds hippy-ish but it's true. I agree with almost every post here - a smaller sofa is needed. Is there room in the apartment anywhere to do this: https://pinterest.com/pin/255579347575197419/ I think the idea of building a little alcove just big enough for a bed - with storage under and closing doors - is the next best thing to having two rooms. Is there a way to build two of these in the living room area and then use the bedroom as the living space? Living rooms are often bigger than bedrooms so it might be worth it. Without a floor plan it is difficult to come up with solutions. Please post a floor plan or at least follow up photos of you what ladies did! Good luck! Whatever you folks do - DO NOT BUY the TEKLAs towels. They have zero absorbancy, are ridiculously difficult to get clean and lose their shape after one wash.
