I have two framed watercolors of Venice that I adopted after my great grandparents passed away. They are always the first to be hung up when we move into a new home, and the last to come down when we move out. I am adding to them, and buying charcoal sketches of Venice (also purchased off of the streets in Italy) so that I can pass the 'set' down to my children's children too :)

Oh, I really like the green on green! I wish I could do that, but I live in a corner house, and my garage door isn't on the main street, so it would only be more confusing to delivery people!

And for the record, when she wrote "Chinese delivery man" i'm positive that she was talking about the yummy food being delivered, not the person delivering. I suppose that "pizza delivery man" or "cable guy" would not have sparked as much fire. I understood her!

Interesting home.....I actually like it quite a lot! I can't really identify why exactly, but imagining the inside just makes me feel happy (as strange as that may sound).

I do love that ceiling, i've never seen one like it! At first when I saw that picture, I thought it was the wall, and that the wood was running up the wall - I love both the real thing and what I thought it was :)

Oh! Clever! It would be fun to use them in a garden also to label plants (you know, to help jog your memory of bulbs that need to be stored for winter months - or to remind you of any root pruning or re-potting). After being treated to withstand the elements of course :)

They would also make a unique display for vertical postcards/small prints/artists trading cards to keep on a narrow shelf too!

Who would have known that such a simple thing can have so many possibilities! Good eye Mrs. Sarah!

I do like the arrangement here! Currently the husband and I have a large collection of DVDs that we store in a big CD binder. It kind of is a pain in the butt when we add a new DVD to the collection, because we do organize alphabetically (so I let the mister deal with the shuffling so I don't have to). I have to show him this because this would be so much easier and more efficient! Thanks Sarah Rae!

Great resources True Blue! Should time permit, i'll be thrilled to see this thing in real life too! It may be quite a while though....at least 6 months before I can even try to start - i'll use my time until then to research and design said bench, so that no time is wasted.

Oh, I wonder how affordable plexiglass (or any similar plastic) tiles could be (already cut to size or cut at a hardware store)? You know, so that the finished piece can not only be fun and colorful, but also lightweight. I am seeing a fabulous bench in my mind's eye!

Wow! I can only think of one word right now: ROADTRIP. Seriously! I wonder how much a U-Haul would cost from KC to Northern California......

Yanners - the last link in the post takes you straight to the artist (Zach Trover)!

Sarah Rae - I love the ability to switch out art as you see fit, in my mind I have a revolving collection of postcards, that get changed every week according to mood/theme/color!

What a wonderful space! I really like how the area around the staircase is open - and I enjoyed the window treatments too, they really helped pull together the different elements in the rooms. It's well planned and has a great flow! Oh, and yet another compliment on the floors, I love the subtle drama that they bring. Keep up the great posts, Sarah - and congratulations to Matt & Amber plus baby!
