I think this is fabulous, the way you did this to fit YOUR needs. Doesn't matter what everyone else wants. I think it is great to use materials, readily available and affordable to you. I like the idea of the 2x4 counter top, and the more gloss you put on it, the less likely for things to slip in any cracks, because there won't be any. Great imagination. Can't say enough about this, and I would love to turn you loose in my "ugliest kitchen on the planet".

I've been there several times now, and I really love the Thai Chili Sauce. I think that would be a great addition to your kitchen. It can go on things such as sweet and sour pork, chicken or fish, use as a stand alone sauce, or barbeque little chicken wings in it. We had this done for us while we were there. It has just enough kick to it. Not too hot, but just enough for some great flavor.

These are great, but my question is why would you pay $1900 for something that looks fairly simple to make and put together yourself? Seems a bit high for a pantry cabinet, don't you think?
