Love this! And fittingly, I'm sitting in my home, watching the Portland rainfall as I type this. C'mon sunshine! :)

I was 7 during the CPK "craze" and I remember how nuts it was. My younger brother and I each got one, and mine was named "Coral Jacqueline." I still have it and will eventually pass it on to my daughter. She may get her own new one this year.

Oh, and my mom was friends with one of the managers of a local Thrifty, so she was able to get a "preemie" one for herself, named Nanette. (My name!) I think it's still in the original box in her closet.

I had no idea of the CPK scandal! Thanks for sharing!

I saw that on Pinterest and tried it for myself on our couches that are the same color as theirs and with about the same amount of grime. It worked GREAT! My only suggestion, as it wasn't clear to me when I read the instructions, is to use the scouring, rough part of the sponge. I wasn't having much luck using the softer side, but when I flipped it over, VOILA!

We have one of those fold-away stools that our gal stands on to wash her hands. We just scoot it over to the tub when it's time to bathe her.

Ha! Yes, I was going to say that it's easy to realize you're spoiled with the no-slam toilets when you use a traditional. That happens to my husband and I all the time, now that we're used to the one we have at home.

OMG, that bagel pic reminds me of a paparazzi photo. "Toddlers -- they're just like us!"

My gal doesn't fall asleep in other places easily, so it was extra hilarious when I left her alone in my room to finish out a tantrum, and came back to find her passed out on the floor with her hand in her favorite plastic jar -- http://flickr.com/gp/nannersp/8dHt00

We have the Good Nite Lite, which turns on to illuminate a blue moon when it's time for bed (7 p.m., for us), and stays lit as a nite lite like that till 7 a.m., when it turns yellow like the sun.

Each night before we go to bed, we ask our toddler, "You don't get up till you see....?" and she replies, "The SUN!"

I used this trick all the time w/ my daughter's blowouts. From the stuff I read, the poop is yellowish because of bilirubin -- the same stuff that makes babies yellow when they're jaundice. With this trick in mind, it makes sense that they put babies in indirect sunlight to help break down the jaundice.

We put one in our gal's crib when she turned 2, but she didn't start to actually sleep w/ her head on it until she was about 26 months. She's been using her muslin Aden & Anais swaddling blanket as a balled-up pillow for ages, though.

The pillow is a travel pillow from BB&B, probably similar in size to the official toddler pillows.
