@MSJESSIEMEGHAN:

That's EXACTLY what I thought! Your post made me giggle and snort this morning. Thank you!

I'm having this issue, so I find this post particularly prescient. My illness is not a physical one, however. I've been in the throes of depression for a few weeks now and my house has suffered. I just can't seem to find the energy or will to clean those dishes or scrub the toilet, let alone tackle laundry.

Thanks to this post, I am going to ask my best friend for help. I just can't face this alone--too overwhelming. Maybe he can help me until I feel better. Thank you, AT.

Thank you for the morning giggle, Rusty Patina. I was thinking the exact same thing. :-X

All kidding aside... is this safe? 'Cause if it is, I am SOOOO in.

I just don't wanna turn my home into a funeral pyre.

I'm torn between delight and dismay. I don't love it exactly, yet I am strangely drawn to the little fella :(

@Rural. LOL. I wonder how long it would take said herding dog to devise a way to get this little guy off the wall. :)

It happened to my comment, too, Francine. But I imagine its removal had more to do with fellow commenters flagging the comment as inappropriate than any serious editing from Apartment Therapy moderators. Funny how self-righteous people become defending the aesthetics of someone they don't even know while single-handedly condemning other people they don't know for disagreeing with that aesthetic.

Grow up.

Max put his house up for our voyeuristic pleasure. He had to have known that not everyone was going to grove on his style. I'm sure he doesn't give a fig what some people thought.

For the record, my comment was merely "Hot Mess". That's it. 2 words.

I live in this exact kind of chaos (with not nearly as cool artwork). I actually like the style--it's hot. But seeing it in someone else's home made me realize that it sends a certain vibe that the space is unstructured and maybe not clean--a mess in other words.... not exactly the vibe I want to send.

This is kinda ghetto, but I use the wine bottle totes. They already have built in compartments that can be used to separate bruise-able fruit and delicate breads or cheeses from jars and cans. Granted, they don't hold a ton of groceries, but are nice for a daily or tri-weekly trip to the market.

@Scissors: Anything is fair game to comment on when one submits their home for our ____ (fill in the blank: delight, envy, perusal, critique).

Funny you should be bothered by the comments vis a vis the Fountainhead since, if silence is any indication, the actual homeowners aren't.

Oh, no...not The Fountainhead! What a soul-less bit of writing :( That's just my opinion, peeps. Don't tread on me for it :)

That aside, what a lovely home: warm without clutter, beautifully edited and executed. When my house grows up, it wants to be just like this house. I am utterly charmed.

@Robin:

Avocado + kosher salt is NOT guacamole. Guacamole is a traditional Mexican food staple that is comprise of many, many more ingredients.
