Here is some honesty for you... I am a 28 year old momma of a 21 month old boy and expecting a daughter in July. My son already helps around the house by putting his cup or plate in the sink, pushing the laundry basket down the hall and "sweeping" the floor. He does all these things happily and I can tell he feels proud of himself when he helps mommy. That said, I hate doing chores! We did do them in my family growing up, but today, I have piles of laundry and dishes that never seem to go away. I was always an excellent student in school. I think my problem is, if something is not interesting to me, I won't do it. I wish that I were different, but I always seem to revert back to my old habits. I don't want my kids to be like this, but it's so hard to change MY ways. Hmmm... food for thought.
