Thank you to everyone for the sincere comments, nice compliments, and overall positive feedback I've received about my place :)

The orange globe thing mounted on the wall that some of you were wondering about is actually a little vintage GE portable radio from the 70s. It can either be mounted to wall by hanging it from its base as seen the pictures, or it can simply be placed on any level surface. I think it looks cool on the wall. There's a little magnet inside the bottom half of the globe where the battery goes to keep the globe balanced on the axis. The very top silver part of the globe is the speaker. Rotating the top half of the globe turns the radio on and allows you to select a station. The bottom half also turns so you can adjust the volume.

The sunburst clock I found eBay. Do a search for sunburst clock on ebay and you should get many different results - including some vintage, and some new.

Hey guys - the apt featured in the pic for this article is mine :) For those of you who asked what paint color was used - it's called "Fashion Gray" by Behr paint. You can find it at Home Depot.

Size Doesn't Matter: The Benefits of Living Small Cool

Thanks, INDIGOSAILOR. Not sure what you mean by "how practical is it if there is no living area in what is a decent amount of space?" The living area - if you will - is defined in the space near the lower half of the main room; just look for the sofa ;-) In keeping with a MCM aesthetic by utilizing an open floor plan, there's no need to interupt the exisiting flow in the space. Less is more, right? If you'll remember, the bench at the foot of my bed not only provides extra seating, but also doubles as a coffee table when used that way. I also have a great little set of collapsible side tables I can bring out as well when I have a group of people over. The practicality is evident from any angle :)

@MRSEAN2K and @STATIONERYFIEND - I bought the desk from a guy who no longer wanted it in his house. He couldn't remember where he got it from since it was so long ago. There isn't a label or a tag I could find but it's in flawless condition. There's also a book shelf built into it on the left hand side :) Looks sort of art deco-ish from head-on too

@ AKAY - the bench/table is normally referred to as a "slat bench" and associated with Danish Modern design.

@APAPPA - the blue bullet planter can be ordered online at Hip Haven - they also have other colors. It's a replica of the original bullet planters that were popular in the 50s and 60s. Some stores carry them depending on where you live. You may be able to find similar ones on ebay but if it's an original piece, those usually cost a lot more.

Wow- thanks so much for all the great comments!!! :-) For those of you wondering about the paint color I used - it's called "Fashion Gray" by BEHR paint. You can find it at Home Depot. The "blanket / bedspread" was a great find I got on eBay. It was actually just a huge roll of unused vintage chenille fabric. I liked the shagginess of it and thought it'd make a cool blanket.
