I put artwork over the crib in my baby's nursery and it's perfectly safe & stable on the wall because we used security locking hardware. It's usually used on installed artwork in public spaces so it can't be stolen. You can get it for a few dollars at any framing shop and it will lock the art in place, is completely hidden/inaccessible behind the frame and keeps the art safely secured to the wall. We used plexiglas to replace the glass too.

Jeez, everyone and their frickin' dog here thinks they're a designer! The kitchen is a vast improvement from the original and kudos to you for actually sharing the whole process with the cantankerous AT readers.

The brass hardware is great. Mixed metals add a bit more dimension to a space. People, get off the brushed nickel & stainless matchy-matchy bandwagon! You know how polished brass was so huge for so many years (80's) and then the cooler metals became more popular? Well the cool toned metallics are nearing the end of their course too. Get used to brushed and patinaed brass because they are making a resurgence. You don't have to use it in your space but you will be seeing it more & more!

I love risotto & have been making variations for a few years (peas with fresh basil & mint is so good). I was 17 when I made my first one. No matter what heat level or pan I use, I always find it takes me half an hour & never the 15-20 minutes suggested. I like it al dente and not over cooked/mushy. I don't know what I'm doing differently.
