There is no natural blue food (cabbage and blueberries are good ideas, but will most likely turn the water purple) so I would go just go for blue see-through cups and when the fish ice cubes are in, it will look like a fish tank....

We have two full size beds!! Our marriage is solid, we're in love, and this works out PERFECTLY. Some nights we sleep together (obviously...) some nights I cuddle up in my bed with a good book and enjoy the solitary calmness. It's excellent. And as a side bonus, after two or three nights sleeping in our own beds, we reconnect and feel like we're sharing a bed for the first time in months which is pretty damn exciting.... you know what i mean....

I think mamainpa's idea was the best. Personally I think the whole idea of scanning and photographing the artwork so silly and totally loses the point. To me what makes my child's artwork so special is to hold it, feel it, be able to see the paint drops and smell the paint, etc. Just seeing a photo or a digital scan of his painting.... uch. What's the point? I would, without blinking, rather save five beautiful little paintings than scan/photograph a hundred.

This tutorial is excellent! Just wondering, though... anyone have an idea for how to make the fabric cover removable so I can wash it? Our chairs get filthy and I'm sure this bench would be covered in food and spills in no time. I'm not so handy so I have no idea what the solution could be. Velcro tabs? Leave some long strips of fabric on the underside and just "tie bows" under to keep it in place? Help.

We found the Spanna extension table from DWR on craigslist. We have an all wood one - coffee colored wood on the top as well. (The website is only showing the glass top, not sure why.) We love it! I personally don't mind if my table gets some wear and tear from the kids - we're a family and not a museum, so I dont mind. The table has held up very, very well. I love the wood so try not to cover it with a tablecloth. When the kids eat, they get placemats. When we have an adult party, we extend the table and its gorgeous. Sure, it has a couple nicks on top but it still looks stunning.

My concern is the uneven weight distribution. How does it make sense to have a child in the stroller, and then a 30lb+ kid standing on ONE side?? With the bugaboo style board, the child is standing in the middle. What do you guys think?

Another idea would be to place an additional cover over the white fabric on the changing pad. There are plenty of materials that don't even need a washing machine - just spray with an antibacterial cleaner of some sort and wipe clean. Thanks for the review! My family lives in NE Iowa.. I know what "shopping" is like there!

What an awesome idea. There are so many child-sized versions of kitchens, phones, cooking equipment, etc but this is the first time I've seen a desk! What a fantastic idea.

I live in NYC, and gave birth to both my children at home with the most incredible and capable midwife, Miriam Schwarzchild. Truth be told, having a homebirth (next time around, whenever that may be) is so important to me that I will continue to do so whether or not Miriam has hospital backing. If it costs me more, so be it.
