Tragic comma abuse!

The raw space is totally stunning. Love the architectural structure. That main living area with the open partitioning and fireplace: I would require fainting chairs all over that room. Overall, I like their choices and sense of humor.

I wonder if because this is such a large space for just two people (that's a mansion!), that the disparity doesn't contribute to the 'impersonal' feeling that so many people have commented on. Many of these spaces don't look like they get really lived in-- instead the rooms function like incredibly large display cases. I'm totally in the mid-century cult, but one of my biggest pet peeves are those vintage-inspired spaces that are executed in a way that end up looking like showroom floors. I'm getting a bit of that here, expecting to see dangling price tags.

But you can absolutely tell this house is a labor of love for this couple. Lucky them for getting that big old house.
I'm so disappointed in how utterly shitty people can be when they think no one is looking.

I really do appreciate the aesthetic of this space-- it's unusual and inspiring, especially for renters! Nice find, K.

As for the printed errors, simple typos are distracting and muddle the message. We're talking about 100-200 word count here. There is absolutely no humanly reason to produce that in sloppy form. In K's defense, some of the most clever and talented writers are completely inept with grammar and punctuation. That's what copy editors are for! For the amount of content that AT churns out, they ought to be employing at least one copy editor per region. (And apparently a whole team of quality control types to screen for duplicate posts.)

What is with all the Egads-why-I-never comments? Ladies, don't choke on your cucumber sandwiches. This kind of stuff is all over the Southwest. Maybe it would be weird in Newport, but haven't you ever seen the flag of Texas? It's just got the Alamo and an old car full of cactus on it.

Anyway, I'm not loving the overall look in the top photo. Nix the graffiti and put that junk in front of a solid red house and I'm totally in.

Oh, I don't know. I'm really coveting spun glass vintage sphere lamps right now, so my simplest of hearts wants to like this. But these also look a lot like those horrible rice paper lamps. Blech. I'll give it a half-full hot.
