I recommend putting the call on speaker, setting down the phone, and getting something done while you wait. It's less aggravating to wait if you're accomplishing something else, even if it's just catching up on Apartment Therapy.


Prevent Waiting on Hold From Damaging Your Health

I own a two-story rowhouse in University City (West Philly), and daylight is our biggest challenge. The middle of the first floor (the living room and dining room) is dark even on the sunniest days.

Second-biggest challenge is the layout of the living room. It's narrow and includes the entryway to the house, a wide opening to the dining room, a fireplace, and the stairs to the 2nd floor. Among all those spatial elements, we have to fit entryway necessities, along with the usual living room fare (couch, tv, tables, lamps). Seems like every solution that works breaks a good-design tenet.

Classic Philly: The Rowhouse Revisited

I'm curious what track lighting you used. I have a very dark rowhouse that would benefit from track lighting (any lighting, really, but track would be easiest to add), but I don't like the look of most of it. Would you share a photo of the track lighting or a link to the product you used?
