I was going for a similar spa feel in my rental. ended up using a grout cover (5 bucks from the hardware store), which you paint on to the grout lines to hide old ugly stained grout. then used bamboo floor mats from BB&B to coordinate with my new bamboo potty seat. worked out really well.

I saw these at a little gift shop while waiting to cross the border from Argentina into Chile and then made a special trip to the local fish market in Valpariso, Chile to find my Chambaware. Ate the fish soup, with chunks of corn and potato, at the local market too...Delicious!

Does any one have any experience with those plant-light-herb-pot-thingies? I have zero sun in my kitchen but am loving this idea and want to try it. Thanks!

May I just add, I have eaten at a few of these langars, the Punjabi name for these free kitchens, and the food is just DELICIOUS.

It is often cooked in open-air kitchens like you see in the picture (and I think that’s what adds to the flavor) and served in a constantly moving outdoor assembly line. Diners can also volunteer as servers after they have eaten. It really is a great tradition.

Faith,

When you say old fashioned oats, do you mean steel cut or the rolled quicker cooking kind?

Thanks!

Have to agree that C&B has good value for money sofas.

We have the Cameron in the light color and love it. Super comfortable to sit and lounge in. We did however have quite a time getting it to fit through the door. It didn't. We ended up getting the guys recommended by Crate & Barrel, MSJ, after receiving less than stellar reports on sofadoctor. The MSJ team was really good and you CANNOT tell that they had to take it apart.

Tip: if you suspect that you might need to use one of these guys to take the sofa apart and put it together again, get them to pick it up from the store the first time around. This way you save the 70 dollar C&B delivery. Good luck with the sofa search.

I discovered GT Dave Kombucha in the drinks section of the deli a few weeks ago and have been drinking it fairly often since then. I like the taste. Where can one get a starter kit to brew this stuff at home?

Hi Olga,

the tour of your place is one of my all time favorites on AT (together with Curtis's home). and I have checked in (flickr) to see the progress to your kitchen :) Love the way it is coming together the glass tiles and copper sink.... mmmm.

I now have a question. Could you please give me the source for the oriental styled table in front of your radiator. I have been looking for the exact same style for a coffee table but have not found one with storage (like yours). Thanks!

Hi Heather!

Love your kitchen, it’s an instant finalist in my books. Tell me did you paint or paper?

I have been trying to achieve a similar look in my kitchen but am a bit reluctant to paint the insides of the cabinets for fear that the landlord will take it out on me when I leave the place. But I have also read that lining shelves with paper, especially in the kitchen, attracts, ugh, roaches. I have hence procrastinated. What was your solution? Thanks.
