Oh man, this post needs to be reposted. What a great topic! I can't believe how many people remember Bread and Jam for Frances :) There's also a really cute newer book I discovered while working at the library called "Pumpkin Soup".

Or maybe the camera is for catching intruding police? Was that kitchen chair covered in marijuana leaves or is that just me being weird?

To try and reduce sugar, I get plain faye greek yogurt and then add a little brown sugar, almond extract, and cinnamon. It might seem counterproductive to add sugar, but compared to how much is in the sweetened versions, a teaspoon or two isn't bad.

Love it.

Also, those shoes are INSANE. I wish I could wear them. Too bad as a 6 foot tall woman they're pretty much not an option. Enjoy!

Roasted squash with olive oil, a little brown sugar, honey, and salt. Might sound weird, but it's great.

I'd love to try this--I've seen it profiled practically everywhere by now. You can also make fantastically delicious homemade ketchup and can it, if you're into that sort of thing. Below is a great recipe for Tomato Jam which I use just like ketchup.

That color blue is perfect. I think blues are really tricky--people either go too primary or too dark. This is fantastic.

Mint won't help with meal planning, but it's beyond amazing in regards to finances and you'll be able to track what you're spending at the grocery, fast food, restaurants, etc...

Can anyone tell me what paint color that is? It's exactly the shade of blue I'd like for my kitchen.

Also, listening to music in the kitchen is wonderful. I think Sam Cooke may be my favorite cooking-whilst-listening artist.

If you shop at local markets then your meal plan will be pretty seasonal by default. Tomatoes, onions and garlic are all good purchases since you can make so many things from them. Whole wheat spaghetti for example is healthful, filling, and not too ambitious!

There's a fantastic recipe for a basil margarita floating around on the web somewhere. It uses elderflower liquor which you can totally make yourself, and crushed basil leaves. It calls for the sweet basil but I actually loved the edge of cinnamon basil in mine (but it's also a convenience thing because that's the variety I grow). What a fun resolution! Cheers!

So many useful little tips! I can't wait to try this and the oreo thing too. Between this post and the one about turning the peel into a candle I think I should go to the grocery right now and stock up on Clementines.

Also, not to be picky, but I don't think cacophony means what you think it does.
