@sweetpeacooks, I totally get you. I plan super carefully to make sure all the food we buy is used up, but when something comes up - I get sick, working late, etc - certain plans go out the window and meal causalities are the result. When this happens, I make sure to remind myself that I am usually awesome at planning and that I should forget about that sad panzanella that I was too sick to make and focus on enjoying the dinners that are coming up.

I absolutely love The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. It's about the world of competitive arcade gaming, which is way more interesting than it sounds! My husband got me (very reluctantly) to watch it with him one night and I was blown away.

I know they can be ugly, but I suggest getting a cat tree. We got one a year and half a go and it completely stopped all furniture scratching.

Romanian! Oh my lord, the soups alone are delightful! And then of course there's paprikash, papanasi, and cabbage rolls. Mujdei (romanian garlic sauce) is especially amazing. It's just not a proper Thanksgiving without a bowl of mujdei going around.

We haven't had cable for years, but we still have a TV partly because I hate watching anything longer than 10 minutes on my laptop and partly because I am a console gamer. Streaming Netflix or Hulu+ through the Xbox has been great! We switch back and forth between services depending on what we are most interested in watching at the time.

"If you can do this, becoming not only an early adopter, but an early discarder, you will realize greater status rewards than you ever imagined. Remember, cultural epochs come and go, but one-upsmanship is forever."

I guess it comes down to whether your cat is a nester or not. I have two. One would be totally all over that cozy hammock while the other would rather sprawl on the chair itself. However, we have a cat tree which caters to both and draws all the scratching away from the furniture.
