I also covet the antique radio and vintage fan.

Very cool pipe shelves. I love that the cat is preening its rear in the first "after" photo! :D

I wouldn't use canola or olive oil to season a cast-iron skillet as they destabilize easily when heated. Coconut oil, for instance, is much more stable and rarely goes rancid.

Love the wooden settee and the banana leaf woven bar stools. Where are the bar stools from?

The *furniture*, IMHO, ignores the history of the building. The historical details of the beautiful space are completely at odds with its ultra-modern contents. IMHO.

I've seen this remodel before, and to be honest, it really bothers me. The furniture and accessories seem to almost ignore the ancient history of the building in which they're situated. And the blatant affluence of the project--its enormous space, upper class minimalism--is completely at odds with the traditionally working class town in which it is located. This is Tel Aviv-Jaffa gentrification personified. Feh.

I don't know. That first photo sort of gives me a headache, and the third one makes it look like the walls are closing in. Cool Soviet propaganda posters, though.

OK, not entirely related, but where can one find that woven natural fiber cushion that the woman in the photo is lying on at the top of the page? I've been looking for a cushion like forever and can't seem to find one.

So simple, yet so useful. To save a list of files in a directory as a text file under Windows, do the following:

- Open a DOS window (Start > Run > cmd).
- Navigate to the relevant directory, for example:
d:
cd files\music\
- Execute the following command:
dir /B /ON > list.txt

This command prints to a file (list.txt) the file and folder names in the folder. The names are in alphabetical order with no extraneous info such as creation date and so on.

Oh and I'd love the Space Station! It's so Space 1999.

The streamline is my favorite. Like water rushing over pebbles on a riverbed.

Definitely khoreshe fesenjan: a Persian stew made with crushed walnuts, pomegranate syrup and chicken. Yum!

I've recycled all our plastic containers and use glass refrigerator containers (eBay) and old jars for food storage. For bag lunches, I use a stainless steel container like the ones traditionally used in India called a tiffin. It's a set of nesting stainless bowls with a lid and a locking mechanism to keep them sealed. It's convenient to carry, and you can even eat straight from the bowl, if you like.

I'd like to get a Japanese bento box made of true lacquer (as opposed to the plastic commonly used today), but these are hard to find. Unless you want to spend upwards of $100 on an antique. Ah well, a girl can dream.
