I'm vegan but ironically I do find something kind of arresting about the visual — from afar. Up close I find taxidermy very, very strange, and ultimately pretty sad. "Look what I killed" is a strange human impulse. Reader Survey: Does Taxidermy Enhance a Space? |

Griffin: I've often thought that as well â however, I'd never actually been *in* a decently-done pink room before. It's actually really nice, psychologically, IMO. Just a positive color. I have a room that's closest to the StyleFiles room now... very different, but similar in that wood tones and the presence of a few other strong color elements to balance out the pink. My pink is not that extreme, but still not pastel. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Inspiration: Pink. It's Not Just for Little Girls |

It was hard to get the feel of the flowers when I saw them in the vase by the door, but when I saw them in action-- they really do look lovely. And your dress! Way to go. :) Apartment Therapy New York | PlantTherapy: Saturday Morning Flowers |

I picked up a bag of red lentils from a top shelf in my pantry. Oh, it was broken. Red lentils rained forth from about 7 feed in the air. And bounced! They covered quite a radius. I swept a little but was moving out a couple weeks later so saved the rest of the sweeping till then... Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | LA Thursday Giveaway: Eureka envirovac |

I had a twin oaks for years and loved it. The prices are good, and the quality and comfort of mine was great. (It actually belonged to a roomie so once we all moved out it went with him, or I would still have it today.) Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Best Sources for Cheap (and Cheap-ish) Hammocks |

mariec: I seem to recall that, you're right, not all CFLs provide full-spectrum light, but if you google it, there are those that do. So, if you're up to make the switch and use less electricity, stock up on those. Good luck with the SAD, it's an MF-er. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Top 6 Green Tips for Apartment Dwellers |

I have two and one half shelves of books. After a few college-years bouts of brokeness that involved me selling off my current collection, I lost the will to hoard them. Now, I can afford to keep my books but generally it goes like this: I try to get a book by some means other than buying... borrowing from a friend or (not as often as I aspire) *the library*. And I don't buy a book unless I'm pretty certain I will like it, and as soon as I am done with it, I find someone to give it to. If they give it back, fine, I'll find someone else to give it to. If they "steal" it, great: less for me. :) I have a few that I re-read pretty often or that I want to make sure I have on hand for future match-making, though. I've done something similar in my container garden and love it. However, just wanted to point out something I noticed on a neighbor's porch â if you cover the body of the pot (not just the rim), you might end up with bubbles where moisture wanted to escape but could not. Not so attractive! I would consider either finding a paint that water could pass through, keeping designs on the lower portion to thin lines, or just *only* painting the top rim. i agree with maude's direction toward room and board â but i personally think the pisa in ebony (or whatever you prefer...i think ebony) could be really nice. it's got the dark lines which i think could be really sleek, but it's "light" on materials and won't feel monolithic and heavy.
