I love it. Amazing use of space. The bed office solution is genius. Lucky you with a dad that can do that! I love the color. I hope we get to see the kitchen/dining area.
If available, I would move into this cozy comfy cool small in a heartbeat.

Hey, every place we live is temporary. Including in this body on this planet.
Great job Tim! Ignore the naysayers. You defy (and beyond) the rep of a guy living in a dorm. I hope in an upcoming AT Small Cool Contest you'll show us what you do with the next space you call home.

You've done a great job. Seems to me the right mix of clean & contemporary with enough personal 'stuff' to make it your home. I was admiring the bones of the space...windows, floor. Then I saw thefloor plan with balcony . I am suffering some serious lust for a small space with a balcony. I want to drink my evening wine watching the sun set and watering my garden in pots. Lust lust lust. Dream dream dream.

Augh! I just looked again....yours is a good sized balcony. Lust lust lust.

Lots of things (already mentioned) that I love about this space. Does not appear 'basement-y' at all. I like the bright clean whiteness of living area. And on student time & budget, is all very impressive. Director side chair....hey, ya do what ya gotta do til you can do better.
What stands out to me that I LOVE the most......the TV is not on center of largest wall announcing itself to the entire space. Thank you thank you. I really feel allienated/offended in spaces that make the tube the unavoidable focus. You've even created a conversation area with leather chair facing sofa (rather than facing the TV). I like it.

I love this! I agree, it looks real...like the home of a real person with a real life. Altho I like the look of some of the other spaces that are very sparse, well staged & ultra minimal, for actually living in day to day, this space shows lots of great solutions for a small space. Furniture to scale, lots of storage space put to good use and not much 'stuff' scattered about. I think the kitchen has the best bones that we've seen here. The color on high ceilings with white walls is a brilliant way to add color but not have walls jumping forward with color. Artwork-check. Rugs-check. Plants that are well taken care of-check. Cat that can discreetly pose for photo-check. Good job Lydia!

What a place. I love it. But I too question whether it is someone's home or a realtor's project. There is no sign of life there. And no personal voice in the pitch. If I (possibly most of us) told of our favorite rescource, I would have said "I ordered everything and it all came to my home." rather than were ordered and came to the home. Doesn't matter that much as it's a nice place to look at. But if this is a model and not someone's home NO WAY should submitter be eligible for DWR prize.

I love the look & mood of it. Twice I have moved into spaces with planned sparseness similar to, tho not at urban lush as this. I can't maintain the open space and minimal stuff for very long. If this space has looked like this for most of the five years you've lived here....wow! You get the gold star for great application of Maxwell's AT principles.
And if you enjoy no rug and no artwork, then that's the way your home should be.
Congrats on creating such a serene space.
