Some of you just don't get it. As the parent of the child who gets the honor of having this work of art hanging above her crib, let me tell you that the majority of the t-shirts used in the quilt we're our own, many pieces from shirts of the actual bands we, or our friends are in. These are the shirts we wear around. None of them are disgusting are violent, but yeah, agreed, my show some skulls, or a cartoon caricature of the devil, or heaven forbid, a naked woman!! Shock!

You know what else shows stuff like that? Try Snow White, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Nightmare before Christmas, Secret of Nimh, or any other classic Disney or similar company's children's movies. Where can a child see things way worse? Try the walls of your church you go to every Sunday. Where can a child see stuff even worse than that?! The news you insist on watching every day and night? Starting to see my point?

My daughter won't even be able to recognize the shape of the skull in that quilt for years and years, and by then, she'll understand exactly what a skull is, because she'll be going to museums with her Pappa every week up to that point. Mean while, the rest of you who don't get it, and think band logos and drawings of wizards from an old Led Zeppelin shirt are frightening things, can keep ushering your daughters down the pink Barbie aisle at Target, and your sons down the war and violence soaked action figure aisle.
