I feed a family of four for about $50 a week - BUT I live in California and have a garden that we eat out of during summer and can the surplus for winter. My biggest money saver is planning menus for the month ahead of time. Once I have the basics I can mix and match all month.

I'm sorry, but this is so sad. Maybe it's the lighting in the photos, but the peach wall color in the bedroom depressing and mixed with the greys it looks old. Maybe pick out the blue for the walls and change the black shades to a smart barrel shape to update the lamps?

I'm generally a fan of banquettes, but the scale of this room is off. The really small light fixture juxtaposed with the table, which looks huge in contrast, and then the jarring stripes... Like I said, maybe it's the photos? I think a larger scale light and ditching the mirror, which I would generally like, but looks fussy in this space, would have balanced everything and brought it together.
I can't tell the scale, but I think I would have switched the two mirrors, the more rustic one above the desk would have been better (depending on scale). If the chair was painted to match the wood mirror, it might work better, also.
Good luck...
