Hi acostica - Good eye! Our designer, Kirsten Marshall from Palmerston Design, suggested continuing the same countertop stone ("Pure White" Caesarstone) from the kitchen into the bay window of the eating/dining area. We love the function it provides on top of the storage cabinets and how seamless it looks with the kitchen.

Hi redping - Thanks for your question about our house tour. The outdoor table was found at West Elm.

Hi Barb - Thanks for your comments! As the owner, I can say, we LOVE our house, too!! The rectangle over the toilet in the main floor powder room is a recessed cabinet (niche) that is just deep enough to store rolls of toilet paper. And, yes, there is storage behind the master bedroom mirror. When you swing the mirror open, you see a TV and some shelving.

I'm going to highlight before and afters of each room on my blog lovingalbany.blogspot.com. Tune in if you're interested in more details - and seeing the niche and mirror storage!
