Save yourself the aggravation of having to take it all down in a half a doz years or so when water gets between the tile and the board and creates problems and just take down the tile on the wall now. Putting in wallboard (get the special drywall for bathrooms) is really easy and then applying the pvc beadboard or wainscoting is super easy - a glue job.

My hubby and I did this in our tiny bathroom in our apt (which we now rent) about 4 years ago when I was 7 months pregnant. It really was easy, is super low maintenance, and still looks great!

meh.

In the middle of a site design for a big project myself I feel your pain on making choices for clarity, design, and for reader usability.

The new site is cleaner and possibly easier to navigate once ppl learn the ropes but does lack the warmth/community feel I had visually from reading OhDeeDoh daily and hopping over to the other sites when links at the bottom of the page caught my eye...

The rebranding of the names to more generic channel headers - I'm not sure is the best choice community-wise but is smart to pull everyone together under one umbrella and create a sense of centrality for AT as the core.
Not sure multiple listing of posts in multiple channels will be effective. I don't want to have to scroll through something I've already read somewhere else...hmm.
I didn't mind the cross posting in the old design b/c it was a cross link to the other sites...not just a duplicate posting...

I agree that sans serif for the comments is tiring on the eyes... but the larger font size is helpful.

Good luck!

I like to play a game a friend introduced me to - I love it "this much". Its a variation on absofrikenlutey.
When buying ANYTHING - (works esp well with clothes) - before you look at the price say outloud "I love it "this much" and put a price in there. A pair of "I love it "10 bucks" shorts that turn out to be 25 bucks. Put them back. A pair of "I love it 80 bucks! I look amazing!" jeans that are 40 bucks... buy two pair and don't buy jeans again for a year or two :)

Love the "how much" question for volunteering too... "I love helping design curriculum for free for a young colleague just starting out for the price of treating me to Starbucks when my kid is in preschool but not enough to hire a babysitter and meet you at your classroom 45 mins away..."

one of my favorite glasses (esp for hot chocolate in the winter - don't know why...) is a rinsed out, label off Bonne Maman jelly jar (http://www.bonnemaman.us/)...
I get the preserves whenever they are on sale and when they are all used up we rinse and use.
But every once in a while my MIL or a sitter recycles them out of the sink not realizing they are now glasses so we still have a low count...

hard pressed to pick - LOVE the yellow rooms and I hate yellow in general and loathe the yellow we are stuck with in our kids' room in our rental - surprising! I wish we could rank 1, 2, 3 and not just pick one...
so dreaming of something other than yellow... I say Levi!

This is going to sound egregious but I had 6? maybe 8? CPKs (plus one of those weird hybrid animal kids they came out with - mine was half dog half kid). BUT its a good story. We were totally super dirt poor farmers (my mom was already working an extra job as the cook for the Priests at the catholic school they sent me to to cover my tuition) and for the holidays every year so they could buy presents and have a big christmas dinner my mom got a seasonal job on the ASSEMBLY LINE for Coleco who made... CABBAGE PATCH KIDS! The only perk to the overnight shifts (before she came home to work on the cows at 5am) was that each year she got to buy (at cost) a CPK. So I don't remember their names but I remember all the girls who laughed at my hand-me down clothes looking on in amazement when I brought out my parade of Cabbage Patch dolls - blonde, brunette, premie - boy and girls. I had them all... :)

I do this with my students (I teach theatre) and after dress rehearsals, performances etc - if we find a shoe or a belt or, heaven help them, a prop that is just left around they have to buy it back for a buck. All the money goes to the cast party. It takes just about two kids a year to leave stuff out and then everyone realizes I'm not joking and they will really have to come up with a dollar... magically everything gets hung up and put away... I've never been "ahead" of a documentary trend before but when I saw this was coming up at a local cool theatre (www.brattletheatre.org) I got tickets. Can't wait to see it next Wed night! Though I'm a little shocked I'm paying a babysitter so I can go watch Elmo...

I would say (as a landlord who demanded a Sept 1 lease) that a good way to get a deal is to post an apt wanted in addition to looking on craigslist. I know someone already said it - but I really want to suggest it to you. When our month-to-month tenant gave us less than 30 days notice (which was required by her lease) we were able to fill the apt in 4 HOURS on craigslist for a sublet til Jan 1. And then when I posted it from Jan 1 to Sept 1 (at a 250 a month increase on the sublet so we were closer to market) a few weeks later after we decided we weren't selling it, I filled it in less than 24 hours. The rental market in town itself (we are in Fenway) is brutal. Post a wanted and hunt the craigslists ads and you will find something. Paying a realtor is not needed if you are willing to deal directly with small landlords who only own one or two properties and who get shafted by students all the time...

Every other day - planned out according to my days with big meetings etc. And I hate to admit it - but the highchair (once he was old enough after the bouncy seat in the bathroom was no longer an option) in front of a custom made 16 min sesame street youtube playlist not only got me showered but my kid knows his ABCs (six different songs) counts from 1-20 and can talk about octagons and friendships. So as far as TV goes I feel a little less guilty and its really important to be clean on big client meeting days!

Yeah - those are great but... look at the ingredients! Also they stain the hell out of your whites - as in stained so yellow you have to turn them into rags or dye them another color. Sometimes less convenient is MORE convenient in the long run...
