Trex decking has a consistent problem with mold - it cleans up okay, but my parents have to spray down the deck every year with a chemical mold-killer.

These were good, but I would DEFINITELY recommend cutting the sugar in the meringue to 1/2 a cup! These suckers are SWEET!

Other notes.... I also used 3 egg whites, and it was perfect. I agree with comments above - some espresso would be so good (and cut some of the sweetness). Also, I LIGHTLY crisco-ed my parchment, and it pulled off perfectly.

It seems like completely inappropriate architecture for children. It's cold, concrete, individual huts without any kind of warmth, community, or safe feeling for the kiddos.

And logistically, that wall of round bamboo tubes? How long till a child gets their head or arm stuck in those?

Interesting design, but how tragic it would be to focus on solely that, and not recognize that it is severely lacking to meet the needs of those orphaned kids.

I'm lucky enough to live in Seattle, so I get meat/fish from Amazon Fresh (amazon.com/fresh) ALL the time, and the quality is great! I like the salmon from Amazon FAR better than whats at the deli counter at Safeway.

I made these with sweet potato puree instead of butter. YUM! I also added 5 tbs flaxseed, and used whole wheat flour. They are definitely dense, but absolutely delicious! My house smells amazing!

I'm confused about the floorplan - two of the bedrooms are connected by a doorway?

The bed linens are beautiful! And I love the staircase - the black steps add a fun contrast!

I made a version of this yesterday - and YUM!

I made it a sorbet...a bag of TJ's frozen mango chunks, corn syrup and Splenda (an attempt to be slightly healthier). I didn't measure the saffron or cardamom, but the saffron slightly overpowered the cardamom - so beware, those of you who suffer from the same 'eyeball and dump' technique. I did add a splash of vanilla, which I would recommend.

I topped it with TJ's almond biscotti and crushed pistachios.

It really was fantastic - one of my favorites that I've made! My boyfriend was amazed at how much it tasted like a lassi drink!

It's beautiful, but I feel like this photograph is posted somewhere on AT at least once a week.

Push the dresser to one side, and add a chair - maybe upholstered in some great fabric, or even just a cute pillow? A floor lamp would work then as well.

(the painting might need to shift with the dresser...but not necessarily) I like the painting ideas - and would also recommend MIRRORS to frame the painting?

Yeah...I'm with you two - this seems ridiculous. Plus, I think it draws WAY more attention to the corner than that teeny little inconspicuous box.

My first instinct is to ask, "What's behind that curtain?"

I wonder if you could DIY something to get a similar effect?
Any ideas?

I have light gray trim in my apartment, just painted my walls a deep blue-teal, and LOVE IT. Definitely recommend gray trim! Less nautical than the white, and adds more interest.

BUT..if you love the wood, I agree with AT_Red - another color might be too much - wood trim might look better.

That looks great!

Does anyone have any other ideas for creative framing (or super cheap mats)? I'm in love with quite a few etsy prints that either require (expensive) custom matting, or something more creative.

HELP!

These are fun to make! Put the album in the over, set on an upside-down bowl (or plate) - the album softens, and you can pull it out and quickly press is down a bit onto the mold (you can use your fingers, or something smooth to keep the surface smooth).

The deeper the bowl, your record will fold up a bit - could be a cool effect.

I keep the oven pretty low - 200? 250? Just keep an eye on them - and if it doesn't turn out the way you wanted, just re-melt it!

I gave these to a DJ friend as a wall decoration - and the hole in the center worked perfectly to nail it to the wall!

These remind me of wine boxes...that are SO hard to find right now (only higher-end wines are coming in wood boxes these days). I've been looking for a wine-box bookcase, and these just might do the trick!
