The walrus is a bean bag, sewn from a pattern in an old issue of Knippie Baby or Knippie Idee (Dutch sewing magazine). Unfortunately I can't find my copy right now, so I can't tell you exactly which issue - but probably a 2002 issue... Daniel Makes Room For a Brother or Sister My Room |

Thankyou! I must say, though, that most of our toys are stored (discretely) in the family living space, because that is where I want the children to do most of their playing. It encourages them to play altogether, and makes it easier for me to monitor their activities (especially the younger children). All their toys are shared except for a few personal things which are kept in their bedrooms. Daniel Makes Room For a Brother or Sister My Room |

We love our Quadrilla set. Marbles clacking down a wooden track make a lovely sound, and we recently bought their music 'blocks' which make it sound even nicer. (I like the look of the Haba track but, even if it were available in Australia, it is way more expensive, and unlike the Quadrilla blocks, the Haba blocks sit on top of each other rather than fitting inside each other, making the marble run less stable.) Thank you for all your lovely comments! Printing maps onto fabric at Spoonflower is a great idea (my imagination runs wild with all the things that could be made from map fabric). Modular DIY Map Cushions The Shape of String |
