I love Hyde Park and I'm always happy to see house tours featuring toy collections.

That would drive my cat absolutely nuts.

Agreed on the OXO (or something comparable) and the rubber/silicone ones just don't cut it anywhere.

Second the kombucha. Plain yogurt, lots of veggies, steamed rice or quinoa, and lean protein like fish or tofu. Minimal salt, sugars, and oil/fats.

My landlord responded with a vehement and resounding, "NO!" but then stated that if I paid for the paint AND paid to use his approved painting contractors, I could "possibly" change the paint colors.

The walls in the living, dining, kitchen, hallway, and master bath are all Sherwin Williams "Svelte Sage" and the master bedroom, two other bedrooms, and guest bath are all an unidentifiable cool icy silver-tone white (different from the brilliant white satin footboards).

I'd love a more neutral light grey/taupe (love Benjamin Moore Aura "Pashmina") but I have to ask myself if it's worth to pay for paint & labor, and the possibility of having to pay for additional paint & labor once/if I move out. :(

The problem with these would be wanting to eat all of the bars!

Well-edited space. I love the color on the dining room walls - would you share the brand & color?

I love mugicha but I have to admit the corn didn't grow on me!

Wonderful space, and even moreso because the family living there designed it. Minimal and modern design aesthetic without being clinical, cold, or cliche (I could see a space like this on AT dripping with straight-out-of-Ligne Roset/DWR pieces). I love the choices of patterned rugs which adds depth and enhances the warmth of the room.

What a beautiful and unexpected compliment to the original fixtures and flooring! I love the idea of something as straightforward as just colored glass for a backsplash.

I need to break my boyfriend of his (well-intentioned) habit of putting my water glass in the sink.

Maybe this seems gross but if I'm drinking orange juice and I want water, a quick cold water rinse after I'm done with my OJ will suffice. Even if there is still orange detrius floating about, it doesn't bother me. Generally though, I have one cup for water (I seldom drink other beverages) and a mug for tea.

@whytephoenix : I could see your argument when applied to gretchenalexis' suggestion of a regular grocery store but seriously if you're paying someone to plant, grow, and harvest vegetables from your own garden, a farmer's market (where local and organic vegetables can be found) seems like remarkably less hassle.

Too many matchy-matchy throw pillows; it's somewhat distracting. I love the new dark floors though.

This would be great for commercial (or even large-scale home) sewing projects but the cost definitely makes it unattainable for the average person.

I want to do this so badly at my new place but the landlord is a stickler for no painting. Actually, he did say if I really wanted new paint, I'd have to pay for the paints myself and hire out his approved paint contractors. Ugh... I couldn't even begin to imagine how much a stenciled wall (much less whole room) would cost contractors when I could do it myself at the cost of paint (and perhaps my sanity).
