I'm diabetic and I can't stand fake sweeteners. I hate when I search diabetic friendly recipes and get routed to the Splenda website! I'd rather have a carb free meal and a few bites of a "real" dessert (rather than a whole portion) than a full portion of a fake sugar dessert.

With diabetics, you're counting carb grams... often times I have read the labels on low sugar or sugar free foods marketed toward dieters or diabetics and the carb count is nearly as high as it's regular counterpart. You just need to know carb serving size and how much to have at each meal/snack.

Stick a fork in an already squeezed lemon, and twist it... you can get a little more juice out that way too.

One time I ordered a ginger ale and whiskey at a "nozzle" type establishment. The bartender said "We don't have ginger ale, but I can make it for you." I said, "How can you make ginger ale?" He replied "I just put Sprite and then add a dash of Coke." I was dumbfounded.

Although the multiple photos of her blue planter are pretty, I have no idea what the layout/orientation of this apartment is. I realize small spaces are hard to photograph, but perhaps putting them in an order resembling a tour would be more helpful in trying to figure out how she uses her space.

Lovely home and very pretty kitty!

Campbell's Tomato Soup with Cheez-Its and ice cold Vernor's Ginger Ale with a straw. "The Real Stuff" as my Mom called it. Even though you felt yucky, it was kind of a treat to stay home from school and watch The Price is Right and Little House on the Prairie and sip ginger ale. To this day, I swear by Vernor's for any ailment.

I'm on love with this... all the natural light and beautiful colors. The trees in the windows are so nice, and the way the closet in the living room sets off a slight pink glow to that corner is perfection. Very lovely!

Mix it with Mexican Crema (not the sweet kind, I like Cacique brand) and heat through, use it to top a chicken paillard or pasta and veggies. Or all three.

What about something non French, but still with theme and pick colors! Take a hint from the song... RED! The blood of angry men! BLACK! The dark of ages past! (Okay maybe that wont work, there aren't a lot of black foods.)

I've always loved looking at the Glassybaby website. The colors and their names are inspiring and beautiful. One day I will treat myself to one, and picking the color will be the hardest part! They are pricey, but they are handmade, and I do like that they have a charitable backstory. Definitely better than just buying a mass-market candle holder.

We love our Staples MailMate. It's heavy duty, and we just keep it on the floor in the corner of our office. Before, in our old home we kept it in our kitchen landing strip on the counter, and people asked us if it was a coffee maker! I like that you can put a whole thick envelope in there and it shreds it like it's nothing!

I have a traveling case for a Pyrex 13x9 dish that has both a microwaveable and freezeable insert pack that goes with it. I've used the heat pack before and it keeps things nice and toasty.

This room is cozy and nurturing without being overly themed out or over the top with the baby items. Looks wonderful!

We had those candles, too... we never burned them either. One year my cat took a bite out of the bottom of the pilgrim lady's skirt, so ours had these exceptionally charming cat teeth marks on her in the later years of my childhood. When we pulled them out each year we'd reminisce about the year Riley bit the pilgrim. Ahh, memories.

It's simple... spaghetti/fettucinne/linguine are supposed to be long noodles. Don't break them! They will bend to fit in about 15-20 seconds like the above commenter mentionesd. If you want short noodles, buy Penne/rigatone etc. :)
