Yeah, all I can get around here is white wine vinegar, which is 1) not nearly as cheap and 2) leaves a weird residue on everything. I'd love to make my own cleaners, but vinegar is sort of inevitable for most recipes I've found, and if it's not there's usually another ingredient I can't get.
I think there should be a white vinegar appreciation day or something, it's insane how much you can do with it!

Day 3: Treating My Home to Flowers & Green Cleaners Liveblogging the January Cure

Vacuumed the Bedroom and back hallway this morning, which gives me a little wiggle room since my weekend is going to be extremely busy.
Tomorrow it's off to the market to get some flowers! I've been meaning to buy some for ages, but I always ended up feeling guilty about the expense and that they wouldn't look nice in my cluttered home anyway. I don't know where to put them yet, but I will find a place!
This assignment is also finally giving me an excuse to order some Dr. Bronners online, since natural cleaning products basically don't exist where I live - I can't even get white vinegar. I just hope it arrives before january is over!

Virginia Grayson - ok, it'll definitely move on!

biolabchick - sadly not. I've been looking around since I got here (south of spain, relatively small town), but there's no place to donate books in my mothertongue (german).

Day 2: Set Up Your Outbox Apartment Therapy January Cure

Is it cheating if I decided that everything in my outbox is trash pretty much before it even hits the floor of the box? There's currently three pairs of shoes in varying degrees of broken-ness and a book. I have no motivation to fix the shoes and no place to bring used books :(

Mine is another one that falls under "clean & organize"

Hallway:
- Declutter drawers
- Add coat hangers

Kitchen:
- Clean cupboards & drawers
- Organize them
- Clean floor underneath oven

Laundry Room:
- Fix the door (might be impossible, our landlord isn't very interested in keeping the place up)

Living Room:
- Declutter bookshelf
- Declutter sofa corner
- Organize Desk

Balcony:
- Throw out unused items
- Clean floor
- Set up puppy proof area

Hallway 2:
- Declutter & organize closet

Bathroom:
- Clean & organize drawers
- Declutter in general
- Clean bathtub area

Bedroom:
- Organize clothes & shoes
- Organize vanity

My biggest problem has always been finding organizing solutions that are easy enough to keep up, I tend to overcomplicate things, an in turn, never follow through with keeping things how they're supposed to be.
