i'm blanking on the name of that brooklyn-based (?) homewares store -- they sell velocity art and design kind of stuff i think -- i thought it was seed living, but apparently not, because google is coming up empty. anyone have any idea what i mean?

i remember them having an interesting paper goods section. i'm actually looking for pretty composition notebooks.

and it's that time of the year: PEONIES, people, PEONIES. my apt smells lavish.

wende's very funny, but i have to say apartment therapy has often featured homes (i'm thinking of nestwest from last year's contest in particular, and the rosy little things workspace) that are full of stuff and impeccably designed.

i too wondered about the neatness of homes in the media, but after paring down and really organizing a place for everything to live (not just a box to stuff it in if company came), my apt has kept itself surprisingly neat.

lady j - your apt's aesthetic really reminds me of mine. i think it's really pretty as well, but i'm biased towards this style.

Lynne F, i saw a couple of small fabric-covered euro stools at the columbus flea market today, as well as several chinese ones.

someone (jonathan b?) had posted once about les/east village flea markets, i can't seem to find that post any more -- if anyone knows what i'm talking about or has some tips on that scene, let me know, thanks.

"but as always in matters of romance, you must first ask yourself: Would James Bond do it?"........ every time I begin a non-wire story in the NYT, my intelligence is insulted. The notion of romance as a deal to have makers and breakers is... not very romantic, to say the least.

"That how we live measures our own nature" and Xanthippe the cat -- Apartment Therapy commenters is the antidote to the NYT Home section.

jon b, i found a pic of your kimono display -- http://www.flickr.com/photos/7340332@N05/422994488/ but would be curious to see the otehr vintage display. kimono are the only clothing displays i've seen (other than that smallest, coolest entry), i wonder about other approaches.

my situation is that i have a room in which two sides are teh "living room" and one side is the "office". the "living room' has paintings, the office wall is currently bare. not sure if clothing-on-a-hanger is exactly right, but i want something fabricky yet more light-hearted than a painting. i like the rotating collection idea too.

hi everyone. one of last year's smallest coolest entries had a dress hung up on the wall as a display, which i thought was a very nice alternative to hanging paintings or unmounted rectangles of textiles. does anyone have other examples of this? (done in a way that looks deliberate and not random messiness!)
