Do a Stucco skim coat like I did. Gives it a modern concrete look. I'd box out with studs and wonder board (concrete board) the hearth to the floor and also Stucco that. Makeover Ideas for Brown-Painted Fireplace? Good Questions |

I just bought my first house and will be closing at the end of the month. I was wondering the exact same thing! I haven't used a tub in over a decade and wanted to do an "open" shower. Does Shower, No Tub, Hurt Resale Value? Good Questions |

I use a mediaflow pillow and temprepudic 3" mattress topper has greatly helped me. I have sleep apnea but am young, 5' 11" and 160lbs, certainly not my weight. Went for a sleep study and have a 28% decrease in sleep and woke up something like 27 times in a 8 hour sleep period due to stop breathing. Next test would have been BiPap titration. No thanks! Not sleeping with a machine. Have to look into surgeries, although all for sleep apnea have a VERY low percentage of improvement for such invasive procedures. Testing Products to Stop Snoring |

I repeatedly have this dilemma in all of my apartments! I have quite a bit of tools, even after minimalizing them. So I have a large 3-tier Craftsman box and an even larger sterlite cabinet next to it for all of my "garage" stuff. My current place has a large entranceway unused hallway before I go up my stairs to my apt. I have them both against the wall. Oh--how I need a garage so very badly! Storing Inside Man |

I also have the Mandal for 4 years now with black drawers. I too had looked high and low for quite some time for a bed with under-drawer storage and in the end this one fit the bill for its affordability since I'm hoping around renting different places. I'm sure you can 10 years out of it. Recommendations for Platform Storage Beds? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy DC |

$180 is too much!? Look at any Modern/Mid-Century/etc piece of, sometimes, non-functional furniture or decoration in you home. How much did you spend? Ok, well this looks GOOD, serves a purpose, so I say I'd pay it! ModKat: Litter Box ICFF 2009 | Apartment Therapy New York |

I so no. For a long time I have always felt the need to have a desk, chair, with all my art supplies super organized, printer, my mac and tablet, etc. Well soon after I graduated school I really cracked down on my minimalism and confided my supplies to a large Art-Bin box, hid my printer in my credenza, used my MacBook where ever I wanted, ditched the office chair and really like that since I'm a professional Designer now I don't have to feel like I'm at this work desk but rather able to enjoy the rest of my home (living room, dining room table, bed). I say between two panes of class. The glass can have four corners with aluminum/stainless posts that keep the two pressed panes of glass raised away from the wall to appeciate the see-through look of the cut paper. Its so traditional and feel like its the domesticated humans way as their parents and parents before them all have nice china. Not anything against people that have it, but no way in hell I'll ever have lame, never used, waste of space, gaudy china! I'd rather have nicer-than-I-would everyday dishes/glasses/flatware that I can enjoy everyday and always feel good about using and enjoying.
