I spent most of the afternoon yesterday making the Moroccan phyllo crescents from the Milennium Restaurant cookbook. For dessert I made individually portioned lattice apple pies. It was lovely. My partner is Cuban and we're both vegetarian, so we make black beans and rice every year instead (along with all of the other more traditional Thanksgiving dishes). Survey: Are You Making a Turkey for Thanksgiving? |

I love them roasted on the grill with other fall veggies, sliced and added to fried rice, and shredded and made into veggie burgers. Help Me Eat Four Beets a Week! Good Questions |

It's happened to me twice as well. One of those instances occurred while I was taking the dish out of the oven. I actually had my oven-mitted hands on the dish and it shattered in every direction, in the oven and all over the kitchen. It's amazing that I wasn't injured. Glass shards were everywhere around me. I agree with nellymom's suggestion. It costs more to have something custom framed, but it is certainly worth it in this case. If you find a great framing store, ask to speak with the owners or with someone who has been there for a long time.
