In Baltimore my favorites are Trinacria (cheap Italian), H-mart (amazing Korean grocery chain) and Lotus (another Asian grocer) and Punjab Grocery (Middle Eastern and East Asian grocery).

Just a brief comment. For those of you who suggest we as a people evolve or die or indicate that we should somehow live lives that don't affect the animals around you, I ask you to pause and consider your statements. Evolved or not, we are still animals ourselves. Agreeing with an earlier statement, what have you to say for tigers and other "violently" carnivorous creatures. I think the evolved thing to do is to use all of the creature we sustain ourselves on. Using the skin, bones, fat, is far more respectful to an animal then seeding the remains to the junk heap.

I like the way you put your vintage inspirations into a very modern context - well done. Its kitsch without being overbearing. I loves it.

Papertowels....while I used dish towels for cleaning up most messes, there are just some things I want to dispose of.

I could ride my bike more often, thought I use mass-transit to get to work (an hour away anyway you cut it). But around town, I generally use my car (which is for sale!)

To agree with organs... if one word describes your feeling, why say anything at all? This is a place for conversation.

On that note, while I like the idea of the chair and even the style, it's the fabric I take issue with. I think this chair offered in a patterned fabric would be more striking.

Also I think that this would be hard to replicate, however the replication idea still sounds like a good way to rehab the Tullsta. Will someone try this and post pictures?

This is far from horrible or cruel... In fact my herding dog would love this. He's loves a task and a challenge - he's very easily bored and has a ton of energy. This would be great! I already take him running, but I've wanted to go biking while he runs next to me.... but I fear the leash would tangle in the spokes... this is a great idea....

Butter is terribly easy, albeit expensive to make. Take cream, good cream from the farmers market if you can get it, and whip it (using a blender, food processor, or electric mixers) until it forms peaks, keep whipping past the point of hard stiff peaks (like whipped cream) and your cream will slowly separate into buttermilk and butter. Cool huh? Then you can add herbs, salts, peppers, oils, or whatever else you want to flavor it.

My boyfriend and I did the same thing with wine crates. It's relatively easy and looks really cool.

The second choice from the top (blue and gray scheme) I think is best. Especially for a colorful apartment.

The reality of the situation is that you're uneasy about living there. Luckily for you, you have time to time about it. Because of the market it's not likely someone else will pick it up. I would pass for now and perhaps come back to it. If it sells it wasn't meant to be and you have the reassurance that you didn't by a place that made you uncomfortable. I think it's win win. Just sit on it and see how you feel in three weeks or so.
