Favorited before I saw the stuff on the bathroom wall. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy? This place is gorgeous and you've decorated it well, did someone break in and deface your bathroom walls that way??

Thanks! That's actually from a cd compilation called Short Music for Short People that I have a few volumes of. Why did I not think of that? haha

I will concede that "MCM" didn't start being used until recently, but that's just short for mid century modern which is a term I remember hearing as early as like, the mid 90s, when I asked my parents if I could redo my room that way. It's not a fad term, it's not a hipster thing, it's a description of what you are talking about. Mid century as in the middle of the 1900s and modern as in it was fresh and brand new at that time. Lol.

I guess he'd prefer faded out, printed, made in China flags to be plastered all over everything but as soon as someone lovingly hangs a beautiful old flag in their home as one of the most striking features in the place it's time to break out the concerned face? Also pretty sure YOUR country's flag is theirs, too. Ugh sorry this just really hit a sour note with me. Like, how misguided, prudish, and rigid could you be?

There is literally no such thing as a "stylish" removable wallpaper border. You can have style or you can have a wallpaper border, but not both!

While I can appreciate the time and effort it took to do this, I cannot ever condone turning a beautiful period piece of wood furniture into something that looks like you bought it at Pier 1 on clearance. Ugh, sorry. :(

Ok, I am pretty limited in my understanding of certain computer things, but does anyone know how to make a mix cd of 30 second /10 second song clips? That would really make this easy to do since you'd just go by the music as for when to switch up.

Whoa that place is STUNNING. You super hardcore lucked out! I want to echo the suggestion of a previous comment about asking the landlord to uncover the wood floors, since that place looks like it has them under that carpet. Brown carpet always looks smelly to me, like maybe it harbors cigarette and cat smells, ya know? Those curved walls that flow into the ceiling? Extremely expensive. Like, crazy expensive. Work with it, not against it. Previous advice to create a ceiling line with molding is bad judgement with poor taste.

Honestly I think you should leave it white and let your furniture, art, and accessories have all the color and pattern in the room. BUT you should definitely repaint with a nicer, high quality white and then perhaps a different white in a different finish on all the molding. Benjamin Moore makes a really nice one called Moonlight White.
