I keep a general journal, especially now since I've had children. I love journaling but strangely enough have never thought to keep a food journal...especially after all my travels!! I'll start now though ;-)

What a great, informative, post! I'd love to be able to afford staying in a flat everywhere I go but it's not always the best option (price-wise) depending on where you go! I love the idea of independent and feeling like you're at home rather than being in a monotonous hotel!

Sometimes so much effort gets put into preparing a meal...I for one, love the gratification of making food from scratch, and seeing the looks on my husband and kids faces when they devour my culinary creations ;-)

What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of June 15-16, 2013

I's like to say that I had an eventful cooking weekend but the only food I prepared was baby food for my 6-month old! I've been working on some new recipes for my blog and lately it's been ALL about purees! They're pretty good though...good enough for the adults to eat if i don't have time to make dinner, ;-)
I just posted this one:

It really is hard to follow a strict diet, with particular ingredients, depending on where you go! I travel to Italy every summer and used to bring EVERYTHING with me (tahini, gluten-free pasta, almond butter, coconut oil, even cumin!) but now these foods are becoming more widespread so this make sit easy for me to prepare the same meals as I do at home!

I agree! You don't have to travel across the globe to expose your children to different flavours. I did so with my son from a very early age and he now has such an appreciation for all kinds of food. I even dedicated my blog (http://www.bitesforbabies.com) to this motto ;-)

You can't go wrong with a handful of nuts and dried figs...no prep involved! I also love to make these for long trips...they're very filling (in case I don't have time at the airport to pick something up or do not want to spend an absurd amount of money!)
