I would love this with a base on the bottom so it's more like a drawer -- it would be a nice place to store your ugly U-lock or your bike gloves out of sight. But honestly I can't tell from the photos if it already has one or not. Great idea, and nice bike in the photo, too.

Try topping with crumbled up goat cheese -- so good.

A word of caution that the photos don't show: the lobster ones are bright white on the insides. If you have them way overhead like I do you'll see plenty of white. It's no issue at night, and I actually like the look of the red/white during the day, but if you weren't expecting that it could throw you off. But for $30 a pop, these can't be beat. I love mine.

Anyone have any ideas where to get something like this in solid wood rather than veneer? Thanks!

just what I wanted!

While I usually go bright and early to my local market, sometimes it's more fun and more satisfying to go the hour before it closes for 'happy hour' where everything is $1 ($1 a bag, a bundle, a pound, whatever). Most of the produce has been picked through, but if you're just going for what's abundantly in season you can stock up for nothing. And it's lots of fun.
