love love this! I hate to be this commenter though, and I'm not at all picky about this, but seems like storing wine up top like that, it would get really warm with the cooking and household heat, and so unideal. But clever and good looking too. Love everything! Alison & Kevin's Floor-to-Ceiling Kitchen Remodel in Seattle Kitchen Renovation Story |

@ mimee25, Whole Foods is expensive compared to chain grocery, but not if you don't buy prepackaged foods. If you stick to bulk items, in-season produce, and pantry staples, and substitute cheaper cuts of meat that you can stretch over a week rather than budgeting for a steak/chicken breast/pork chop nearly every night, it's really cheap. I spend about $35/week. Eating on $31 a Week: The Hunger Action Month Challenge The Chicago Tribune |

I love horchata too and I never knew you could make it, but I drink rice milk as a substitute. Why not go to Santana's or whatever your fave taqueria is and ask if they can fill up a pitcher for you. Help Me Make a Homemade Instant Horchata Mix Good Questions |

I would definitely eat the sea salt as long as I was fairly certain the water wasn't highly polluted. Of all the crap that goes into our bodies this worries me the least. Souvenir Idea: Make Your Own Sea Salt |

Maybe they just really like being at their own houses. I know lots of people who love their homes and love having guests and do not enjoy being guests at others' homes. If you are not put out by going to their home, I don't see any point in forcing a situation they are resisting. They clearly like to host, and resist being guests, then the thing to do is be gracious guests, bringing great wines or foodie hostess gifts, and just enjoy things the way they are. Invite other couples over when you feel like it's your turn to shine, and drop the first couple an invite and if they can make it great and if not, then that's fine too. Help! I like it. If I didn't drink the gift wine right away, then when I went to go open it, I'd be reminded of who gave it to me and I would enjoy seeing her writing and reading what she wrote. I don't save bottles and drinking is supposed to be fun. Forget the Wine Bag: Use a Marker Instead |

In MA where I grew up, if you wanted to buy any alcoholic beverage you had to go to a "package store." And if you wanted to buy beers for football Sunday and didn't do so on Saturday, you were out of luck. I hear these things have changed somewhat, that Sunday sales are permitted during some time of the year, and that Stop & Shop has beer. Not sure though. Definitely prefer California. Although I went to a Brew-Thru in Texarkana which blew my socks off! The guy at the window opened two beers for us and handed the sixer over! I just put the kernels into a pot and put cold olive oil in there and put the lid on and heat. Once I hear one pop, I start shaking, and occasionally lift the top just slightly to let steam escape. The second I hear the kernels stop popping, I take it off the heat. It takes all of three minutes. I have never once burned the popcorn. Popcorn Popping Tip: Start with Just 3 Kernels |
