I like the look, but what about a few years from now, and I'm tired of it? Not like regular bedtables that can be moved around, repurposed, replaced.

I don't understand people who complain about houses with wall-to-wall carpet everywhere, and who pine for hardwood (hahaha sorry) floors. I've had all carpet (ok, not the kitchen and bathroom) in the past, and it was great. Shove the vac around everywhere, dump out the thingy (NEVER buy a vac that needs those stupid bags) and voila, done. I hate fiddling with brooms, fine dust that the broom doesn't get, fluff that floats up into the air away from me, dust pans, ugh. And then you have to mop it. Feh.

Good idea not to hang on to your clothes longer than is realistic. If you donate it early enough, before it's too long out of fashion, the thrift shop can make a little more money off it, and that money (Goodwill, Sally Ann, Assistance League) does a LOT of good in your community.

Pet peeves: getting into nasty cold smooth sheets. So, flannel sheets and an electric blanket. With dual controls, since there are cold-sleepers, and there are hot-sleepers, and they always marry each other.

I also dislike the look of beds with a hundred twee little pillows piled up on them, but hey, if you like it, and don't mind excavating through them to get into bed, throwing them onto the floor, then picking them all up again in the morning, go for it.

This is all reminding me that the sheets need to be changed. 'Bye.

This is a great idea, but maybe this cheaper application will work for some of you. At a Container Store a while back I got a box of 200 nice white plastic tubular hangers for about $50. To me, that's a lot to pay for hangers, but I had a blinding vision of how good it would look. Out went the wire hangers. Instant improvement to the closet's look, and so much less tangling! Since then, a few other types of plastic hangers (pant clips! yes!) have immigrated, and nice wood hangers for jackets and suitcoats, but the overall look is SO much better. Really worth the time and $.

You buy a glasstop stove (and find one only 20in wide SCORE) because when not in use it can be used as extra countertop space. And the sink is 14in across and the dishwasher is 18in wide, the fridge is 24in wide, and you find a 24in wide combo washer/dryer and you're so happy because now it will all work and you don't have to A. move or B. have a nervous breakdown. But you might as well have a nervous breakdown because the place is so small that NOTHING is standard size, everything is custom. and it's costing a FORTUNE. But it the end it all does work out and looks really really great, and it functions really well, and so spending the preceding 3 years on the internet tracking all this stuff down was all worth it. And you are never moving out of this house ever ever ever except feet-first.

Wherever they're from, these are all beautiful bedrooms. Even the gold curlicue bedhead was made to look good.

Currently living in dry dry dry SoCal, god, I miss the rain. Now I do projects inside in the air conditioning when it's too damn hot to go outside. Hot sunny weather: not as wonderful as northerners think it will be.

With great respect to your grandmother, I find these tables to be very unattractive, in either iteration. I speak as someone who has herself bent over backwards to rehabilitate bad furniture because it had some sentimental attachment, or I was just feeling cheap, or poor. Sometimes it's just time to let a thing go.

Ugly. Even the cat looks unhappy with it. And who exactly is going to spend half their life keeping it clean, constantly wiping off the hair, the dribbled water, the food crumbs, the grubby kitty footprints? Not moi.
