amandacollier: are you able to get a smooth coat using a roller? I originally wanted to use an aerosol can to avoid brush/roller strokes, but doing so would mean that I would have to move my cabinets outside (a huge pain, since they are gigantic flat file cabinets).

I'm assuming you applied the primer with a paintbrush and roller as well?

there's a woman there named melissa that is wonderful. there's a chance they may be full, but it's worth a shot. i've been there before looking for a rescue and you can tell they all care about the cats. about a month ago, they had 70 cats and kittens.

i love those lamp sockets - does anyone happen to know of a good source for those? or just lamp cords and sockets in general? i'd love to have a single in black and just hang a bare antique bulb in a dark corner of one of my rooms.

abigailm: can you tell me a little about what went into prepping the floors? i have a concrete floor with a few imperfections. there are areas where columns once stood and are uneven with the rest of the floor. i would love to grind these areas down so that they are flush with the rest of the floor.
