We save up all of our candle stubs to make new candles - the best mold we've found so far is an empty pop tin, works great! Remove the top, fill with candle bits, and float in boiling water until melted, it's really quite easy.

Really fun and charming! It even looks great without any creative additions. I remember as a child we'd make book covers and things out of old wallpaper, imagine how much fun it would be with this stuff! It's art on it's own.

So pretty when used as candle holders! I love to bring the outside in, especially during the winter months when I don't venture out much.

We have a dryer but choose not to really use it. In the summer all of our items are dried on the clothesline and in the winter everything is hung on an indoor clothes rack. Sheets are the only things that go in the dryer during our cold Canadian winter because we have no place to hang them.

We find our clothes definitely last longer and smell better. Plus our electric bill is down by 10% a month, which is pretty substantial considering it's just my husband and I that live here and we typically only do 2-3 loads of laundry a week. We've been living like this for almost a year now and we're really proud of all the energy we've saved.

Notecards are a great idea! I'm smitten with the herb basket, might have to put together some of those in the future.

This year we're giving homemade preserves, soap, truffles, and knit goods - shhh, don't tell.

Great art display! I like that you hung a piece next to the bend instead of the obvious spot above the bed, nice idea!

Such a great art collection! I'd love to know where the camera printed cushion came from in the opening image.

I'm from London, Ontario, any other forest city-er's out there?

This is my first time, and I'm a little nervous, although it coincides nicely with the pledge my husband and I took last week to unplug our television.

I love this look! This is something we'll be working on at our house next summer. Quite inexpensive too, we plan to get most of the pieces from thrift stores - a few mis-matched dishes included. We'll definitely need room for a candle on the table and twinkle lights around the area.

I really like it! I mean, obviously you'd need to have the right space for it. I think a chunkier "frame" would really make it stand out.
