I second elvedon's suggestion.

We are currently using an Ikea trofast unit. My kids aren't sorters, they just throw all the pieces in the bins (as long as they clean up, I don't care *how* they organize the legos! LOL).

We tried separating them by set into individual plastic shoebox bins, but they ended up mixing all the pieces anyways.

It always bums me out to see something in a post that I really like, only to find out it is ridiculously expensive. I love a lot of Anthropologie stuff, but they are so expensive.

Actually baking is so much more cost effective and teaches kids that people make food, not companies.

An excellent lesson, for sure!

My kids enjoy baking with me--they like to use the measuring cups, crack the eggs, etc. But their favorite part of course is the finished product!

This is a great look. I really dig that gray on the walls.

Love this idea, but am far too lazy to keep up with the dust that would settle on them. Looks amazing, though!

I got one at a thrift store a few years ago, it was beat up, but my boys loved it and my younger son uses it still.

I got married at the Crawford!

My kids have liked the Ramones, They Might Be Giants (of course! how do you not love them!), The Beatles, James Brown and the Kaiser Chiefs. My husband is really into music, so they get a wide variety.

FOUR hours long? That's ridiculous. If you have a baby (or wedding shower) that ends up being four hours long, you've invited too many people.

Gosh, how did I ever survive my own childhood without such accoutrements?

What next? Diaper Genie cozies? We'll leave no space undecorated in today's child's nursery! Ha ha!

I like the style of the bed, but it's still just a bed. Does spending $1300 get you a better night's sleep? LOL! I can totally see a DIY hack to be made from that idea.

runningwithscissors--I feel your pain about having two boys and never feeling like there is enough room!

Our house is about 1000 sq feet plus a basement. Part of our basement is finished but it's too chilly down there in the winter and it's kind of dark and scary to the kids. We plan to paint and brighten it up a bit with new lighting but we have much more pressing home improvements to make first.

I'm growing to appreciate our small home. As much as I dream of having a second bathroom, slightly bigger bedrooms and a larger kitchen (ours is really small), I feel like this is the right house for us. It's also encouraging me to be more creative with storage solutions. Having a small kitchen makes me really pause before buying appliances and other kitchen gear because I have so little space to store things.

Great idea! I had been wanting one of those cute book racks to put by my kids beds, but the one at Pottery Barn Kids is $60 or $70 and that seems a bit much to me. I knew there had to be a less expensive way of doing this. Love this idea!

I bought the basic set back in July for Christmas for my kids. They are going to love it! I also ended up buying a few individual pieces. I wish I had gotten one of the bigger sets, but I suppose we can always add on later.
