Yeah I can't tell you how many times I've bought a Long Island estate that came with stripes I didn't like. Too often to mention.

Looks too much like a little girl's room. A little design-obsessed girl, that is.

Just like the book shelf that was painted blue, I like the "before" better.

Room & Board should fix it. Two friends bought sofas from them, and the company sent people to their apartment and fixed it on the spot. Before you spend any money and try to fix it yourself, call customer service and see what they can do.

Apartments architecture in other parts of the world are always so much better than NYC apartments, which are mostly rectangular boxes. This apartment would look good no matter what is in it, because the floor plan is great. Makes me want to move to another country, just to have a better apartment with a better floor plan.

This was so great. Loved it. Thanks for sharing. Also loved seeing the fashions and hairstyle of the times. And Jack was a hottie!

The black couch is very masculine. Perhaps get a lighter couch, or maybe slipcover the black one? Or just add brighter pillows. Dark cool colors tend to be masculine. Try using lighter, warm colors and patterns, which are more feminine.

Love the 2nd pic--easy, relaxed sophistication. Very elegant and masculine.

Really great idea. So simple, yet I never thought of it. Will definitely give it a try.

This is always peoples' initial reaction to a breakup: get rid of all evidence. I don't think that's always the best thing. It's so drastic. You can't make someone just disappear. Maybe physically, but not emotionally. And it discredits all the good times, of which I'm sure there were many.

I think the best approach is to yes--"treat yourself to that painting he never liked, and cook the meal he never appreciated," and get rid of all the stuff associated with the bad times. But definitely keep all the mementos, pictures, etc. that remind you of the good times.

I agree with Joey Joejoe and disagree with akay. If you can't tell the map was cut by hand or laser, there really is no point in doing it by hand. It's a waste of time to do it by hand if you will get the exact same results by laser.

Therefore, I do think Richard Estes' work *IS* in fact, a waste of time. Why buy a painting that is trying to look like a photograph? Why not just get a blowup of the photograph? His work is inauthentic because it's a fake photograph. It's like buying a fake antique, complete with fake dirt and fake rust, or anything "vintage" by Anthropologie. It's inauthentic.

Wow I really expected John Mayer's apartment to be a lot funkier and hip. It's just so "blah." It doesn't have any personality.

Regina, if you're going to be a good blogger, you have to work harder than this. This work is from 4 years old, and why even bother posting a link to the original web site when it's in Spanish?

I agree with the editor. Leave it intact, do not cut it. Display it as it was intended, on some sort of scroll mechanism. That way you can even change which destinations are on display, if you feel like it.
