Hi! I agree! My NYC apartment is failry small (no surprise!) and gets limited light (again, no surprise) but using several shades of white, I was able to create a much larger space because it feels open and airy. It's The mulitple white shades, including some flat and some high gloss, gave me a great base! I added color through accessories - vases, stainless steel appliances, artwork, warmer wood furniture pieces, and some metal pieces (i.e. coffee table). It works! (if I can figure out how to submit photos of my space, I will because I could use some ideas for some 'fixing' I need to so and I know AT folks will help me!!). Thanks!

I like the sort of 'zen concept' created by the metal and the stone; man 'bending to hear' nature. This is wishful thinking on my part but it would be really cool if (i) they evidenced that the metal was found in a heap somewhere or from some construction site and recycled to create this and (ii) a portion of the sale proceeds went to a 'green' organization. Combined, I think the price might be justified. And to Sarahrae's comment - great idea! Be sure to ask your local hardware guy/metal worker to use recycled metal and make the display with a stone you find at the park, on a beach, or even a gem of some sort - anything that might have a great aesthetic and also special meaning to you so it's a personalized knocker.

What a great space - and it has great, natural light! The gray trim is actually a terrific bonus - go with it! Gray can be very calming/comfortable/clean and modern and if paired with your camel couch, very warm as well! "Camel and gray" - I say make it yours! It's a sexy, sophisticated color combination and hints of green from a few accessory pieces (vases, frames, your bookcase, plants!, etc.), will add a fun 'pop' to the space! How fun for you! Good luck and enjoy!

Wow! The apartment looks sooooo comfortable! Great job! And you are very lucky to have so many windows in NYC! [I live on the UWS and wish I had your windows, particularly in the bathroom - that's a bonus!). Enjoy your home! - Dale
P.S. I love the green crueset dutch oven on the fridge in the kitchen - it adds a great splash of unexpected color in the serene environment and if you can find a way to further display it, why not! It's like a cool piece of art!
